I was sitting in about the 7 row by the starting line when Kenny Bernstiens TF dragster blew. I thought someone was going to have to pull my chest out of my lungs (with one of those suction cup dent pullers)from the percussion

I think you're confusing revolutions and revolutions per minute. For example: (10,000 revolutions/minute)*(minute/60 seconds)*5 seconds = 833 revolutions. Thanks, Kurt
So, what's it like to go 750mph? <object height="355" width="425"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/fr0KdxhYgfY&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" height="355" width="425"></object> Brig. Gen. Chuck Yeager was known to go fast a time or two also. Kurt O.
. When they do the burnouts they are running on gas, then after they stage they turn on the fuel pumps for the nitro. What a difference in the sound when that happens!!! Not true. When the engines are first fired up, they are started on gas from a bottle. The gas is easier to ignite than the nitro. Once the nitro is picked up by the fuel pump, the gas bottle goes back into the truck. The burnout is done on nitro, however, the fuel pump is on the low side, meaning that it is only about 1/3 of the way on. After you back the car up, and any adjustments are made, you ease it forward until the first stage light comes on. You then put the pumps all the way on, or on the high side. Once this happens, the pitch of the motor changes and you can take your foot off of the clutch. Ease the car forward until the 2nd stage light comes on, and then you hold on. Brian
