So I've been busy, too busy to post on the HAMB. This place moves so much faster than it used to with posts coming and going in no time. I guess I'm a sucker for slow moving, old school message boards. :) I digress. I've also been workin on my little hot rod I started a little over 4 years ago collecting parts.

This isn't a car that was thrown together with rusty shit, and bad styling concocted by a guy who sees old hot rods as an accessory to his lifestyle. [This car isn't going to win any Concourse either...the goal was to have it all cleaned up, shoot some paint on it so it doesn't rust, drive it for a while, then tear it apart and restore it. So the paint isn't perfect and shiney because I'm too juiced to drive it, not because I don't want to] I don't have tatoos, and I don't listen to rockabilly music. Not that that's a bad thing fellas. I've been around old cars since I could talk, and before then. I live this shit, I think about it all the time, I don't spend time at bars; (excessive time), I do spend most of my time thinking about how to make a car that people see and ask the question, "did someone pull that thing out of 1949?"

This is heart and soul, this is my passion. My life has balance with work, wife, dog, softball, golf, and hot rodding, and more. I don't spend all my time in the garage, but I do spend quite a bit. This is my AV8, and I'd like to have it running for the round-up come April. You may remember an article done by Steve Hendrickson in the Rodder's Digest about 3 brothers a whole bunch of cuss words....Well that's this chassis about 3.5 years later, with a whole lot more work done to it. Hope you like some of the progress.

How I found the body...Model A guys are going to hunt me down....
Took a little break putting together this little Pepsi Machine
    [IMG]
Sat the body on the frame...still some trimming out back to do; that body will come down about 4 to 6 inches to where the wheel well hovers just over the tire

Looking good............but, as some of the guys would say from my club meeting next monday.....get a rope.........hahahaha......I had one guy tell me that putting a Riley head on a Model A would ruin the motor........oh well......

Looking at that frame and running gear made me realise how much work I created for myself with the bigger OHV and Z'ing etc.

Everything on your car just fits where it is supposed to.

    Very nice.

Sweet! Did that tranny come out of a truck? I have the same tranny and shifter and was planning on keeping it cuz a shifter that big is just COOL. (Might have to change the bends a bit to keep it inside my 9" chop tho).

    Gonna be Hella Cool tho

It's a 1939 Tranny, not a truck one...get Mac Van Pelt's book if you're looking to rebuild it. Expect to spend about $400 or so and a few hours.

    Lookin' GOOD man!

One of these days I hope to post pics like this and tell the story of my find. Same kind of deal! LOL!

    Anyways, here's my question:
You only boxed the back half of the frame..... can i ask why?

To listen to others I need to box the whole damn thing!

    Enjoy the Rod!!
