Truck With Fins?

Okay, I seem to remember a 50s era pick-em-up truck with fins.

(Not a custom job. A production model.)

Can anyone clue me on the model and year?

Dodge had a finned fancy model in 56 or 57 to compete with the Cameo carriers.

 

Dodge made Sweptsides 1957-1959. There is a website, www.sweptsides.com that has pictures, production numbers, etc. And Johnny Cash music too.

 

They used quarter panels from 2 door stationwagons

 

Maybe something like this '57 Dodge Sweptside pickup? I think I've only ever seen one of them, 20+ years ago, on the road in California.

Those were cool trucks, but as with everything else, Ebay has driven the price out of reality.

 

There used to be an old man in the town I grew up in drove one all the time. It was pretty rough and I haven't seen it in several years, it was the only one I've seen in person. Have no idea what happened to it.
