Having kiddos pays off in more ways than one. Went with my daughters to a birthday party and took a ride on the miniature train. Dropped my jaw - take a look at the pics. Where have you found parts when you weren't really looking for them ?
At least swap out the gauges with some autometer ones, , the train operator might love them and be happy to part with them. Some nice ones with lights!, LOL
Rob Lee striped the Shriners locomotive to build his truck. The frame had to be 30ft long.It was in tons of parades and other Shriner activities around the Omaha megaplex for years. The multiple ****** combinations they had jury rigged we're quite interesting.
LOL; No I'm not going to steal them even though it's tempting. Doubt that they are really used; I'm going to make the owner an offer - my youngest's birthday will be at this place
all the old rides at Sydney ( aust) Lunar Park...made from 1932-36 Ford V8 components like the starter motor which drove the clown heads.
i was walking my girlfriend home from high school one spring afternoon and saw a wheel being used for second base behind this church. so we walked over there and my jaw dropped, it was a very nice Hurst wheel with the centercap(we are talking no rust with a little dust on it) so needless to say the church lost second base that afternoon with the girlfriend helping carry that wheel home. but i did redeem myself by dropping off an old steelie i had laying behind the shed later that evening and at bedtime i made sure i said my prayers!!
I know where there's a pair of artillery wheels under a hand cranked cement mixer. I also saw a pair holding up a flower cart in Vermont that looked like new with chrome center caps. Flatman
i found a set of SS heads for a shovelhead at a yard sale the boss made me go to , i had them rebuilt and they are presently on my scoot now..
