I'll be sure to p*** along the word to some old timers I know who used to run there back in the early 70's.
BTTT, This old strip is in Joes (Model A Fan) Dads front yard. Pretty cool old track. Lets hope it works out, Greg whats the chance of just having one nostalgia only Drag race out of the five that your having? I bet you could have a good turn out if you plan it right maybe the day after the Pile up? Mel
Hey Mel, I'd love to have a period only event there. You couldn't ask for a better setting. As you might have guessed, this is not a cheap undertaking. If the first one isn't successful there won't be five. If we have a strong turnout the first time we'll have a lot more leeway with the remaining events to do what we like rather than just try to cover expenses. I think we've decided to leave out the crotch rockets, and I don't expect there to be many tuners, most of the feedback so far has been from the musclecar and late model domestic crowds. You guys help me out by supporting the first show and we'll do something right up your alley later in the summer. Might even have my g***er ready to play with you all. What's the date of the pileup anyway? Later, Greg
usually first week of september, You need to go to the website and see pics all traditional stuff and around 1000 cars that come from all over the states. I understand the cost I just thought if you are interested in doing something like this that if you make it late in the year you have all summer long to promote it and I will help all I can. If you want to make flyers I can start p***ing them out in Detroit in march.
Here's a little more info. Really need some help in the form of sponsorships if anyone is interested. Businesses or individuals. Call 217-676-2660 for details. Thanks everybody. Well......The muffler thing......yeah....gotta keep the neighbors from complaining. What's your definition?
Well I guess Ill have to watch instead of running no mufflers or baffles, even though My car has spent a few nights across the street from this location running and Hot Rodding it around. (HAHA) maybe I will put baffles in it this year when the new pipes go on.
Greg dont sweat the neighbors there hot rodders to. Joes ad owns the house across from the end of the track so maybe Joe will drag his car out of the garage. He has been talking cheater slicks and a straight axle I guess now is the time.
