Has anyone done business with Kanter? Whatd you think? Im planning on buying spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, and lots of other stuff... and i dont know if I should go to Autozone (hopefully this wont bring up any JJ comments) or use Kanter because they specialize in older car parts...

ive used kanter b4. good products and service i was happy. but for just tune up parts i just go to the local parts store here. hell hald the time they have all the stuff i need for my 50 chev in stock even. kanter is a little more pricey on tune up goodies then your normal parts store.. hope that helps ya out..

We ordered some frontend parts for my daughter's Pontiac. Good service parts worked and seem to be fine.

I used kanter for some wheel bearings on my 59 Caddy and was pissed, most of them were shit. On the second try they got it right but screwed me out of $40 in shipping. [IMG] [IMG]

i have nothing bad to say about em. i ordered a suspension kit from them, brake shoes, a few other things too i think, and they were fast and good to deal with. sometimes pricey, but alot of the time you can't get stuff anywhere else. i'd also suggest going to the parts stores first though just to see what you can get. i got brake hoses for the 50 pontiac on the mega cheap at advance auto parts (i'd have gotten a whole kit for the car if i hadn't changed the rear end), so you can still find stuff. i use kanters for what i can't find, and anything system-wide that needs replaced, like a front end, brake system or what have ya.

  9. I've used them twice and both times were very positive.

Kanter is OK , but overpriced , you can get almost anything over the counter local , just need to know where to look. if you tell me what you need , and for what kind of car , I will give you the part #s and you can get them over the counter , or try Napa , they will be able to help too.

Kanters is great for shit NAPA can't get, like kingpins.
But 99 times out of a 100, you can get most anything you need right at NAPA. Sometimes NAPA can get shit Kanters can't. And you don't get raped on shipping.

If you know what you need & have the part numbers, NAPA can 98.5% of the time get you what you're looking for- for cheaper than a catalog place. I worked there once. I saw all kinds of weird, off the wall stuff get ordered and delivered from there. Their parts networking is unbelieveable. If you have a NAPA close by, some of the 'old guys' that MAY work there like the challenge of scrounging up the 'old' parts you're looking for. We all know the rumor that NAPA really means "Not All Parts Available", but of course I speak for only one store in Plymouth, Michigan; on the whole, I think that an educated consumer is often times the happiest in the end. Do your homework, and if you can't find it at your local parts place or NAPA, try Kanters.
