I don't have either or do i want either even though I had a neat little 63 ranchero one time! Looking at the Falcons was cool! The little early Darts & Valiants were Cool too.
My first new car was a '63 Dart coupe with nothing more than a heater and AM radio. It was under $2000. I still think the lines were sharp and the ragtop version was certainly better looking than the Falcon.
Nice Valiant Joe...if I fix up another abody...that's the body style I want...2 door sedan. I know a guy in St. Louis with a really nice one I tried to trade my vert for. He dropped a nicely built 360 in it and really did it right. Those cars can be made to handle nicely also. I have disk brakes on mine and upgraded to 14" wheels. I also have a ant-sway bar on it and it handles pretty good. I'm getting ready to tear into the intake/exhaust manifold one more time and fix the leaks. I've heard good things about the Remflex gasket.
Had a 64 Dart in High School. Wish I still had the little ******. It was an ugly 4 door, but it was COOL. Red with red and white interior, and hawaiian print seat covers.
I ended up using the gaskets with the copper ring in the center... I can't remember the name of the maker. They are working great. These engines vibrate like crazy... especially with headers. - Joe
Heres a shot of one of my old cars I owned. It was campaigned in the 60s,called the Canadian2.HEMI powered and center steering.I sold it a few years ago. Heres a shot of one of my old 340 *******s.Its a numbers matching 340/4 speed car.Tubbed in the 70s!I added a factory Six Pac setup and a 509 Racer Brown bumpstick. My brother has a cool lil 65 Valiant ragtop,I'll look for pics.... -Shiny
I love 65 Darts I drove one in high school (1994). Every one said I was a **** because of that car. Big deal there was some chicks that liked it alot!!!
Here's a few of my friends car. He's pretty much a walks-to-the-beat-of-a-different-drummer kinda guy. An Eaton blower from a late Ford . . . V6 T-Bird I think. The adaptation didn't look too difficult. Cranks off 14's in the mid-90's on street tires. Pretty good performance when you get right down to it. And one of his other cars.... The drivers on the inside, the guy you see up top playing gunner is a long time friend. Pretty cold day when they dropped by, low 40's. Mr. Gunner guy usually wears a T-shirt and medium weight leather jacket. Says it's enough for him. Anyway, he paid for that this time around, like to froze his keister off. No matter how well you try to hide from the wind in this little machine, you can't do it. Next time I saw them out and about, he was dressed for an Arctic expedition. The 'car' is a British Scout Car. They have a legit - and legally disabled - machine gun for it. When they have the machine gun in place, the road rage ***holes seem to be on their best behavior....
That's actually one from a GM V6 application, the Grand Prix GTP, etc. Just a different version of the T-Bird SC blower, and Eaton M90 (90 CID). Perfect size for a 225 slant six, the GM and Ford V6s those come off of are 230 CID. Neat job on that install. I had thought about doing something similar, but with EFI instead of a carb, on the 65 Valiant Signet I used to have. cheers Ed N.
This is my wifes '65 Valiant convert.......Has new paint, interior, under dash A/C, motor, 904 trans......just needs a dash pad
It's a friend of mine's wife's car,drives the kids to school,grocery getter etc,you should see his cars.
Here is one that a friend of mine built in Australia for a customer. Recently it has been racing at the nostalgia events down under but I don't know what sort of times it has been turning. Roo
