Nice pics : they sure was'nt taken on Saturday afternoon the place was packed & it was hard to get close to some cars in the motorama area.
Thanks for the pics. I hope you enjoyed yourself at the show and had a good trip from Fort Wayne. The Road Rockets had another good selection of hot rods again this year. No ropes...displays...or at***udes. Just hot rods and friendly people. Can't get much better than that!!!
When I went to this show last year it wasn't till I got looking thru my pics afterward that I became aware of the lack of ropes around the cars. All I knew for sure was that my shots looked better than they usually did at an indoor show. The real pleasant surprise was that most all of the spectators also seemed to know just how close to get and what they should and shouldn't touch. I wondered if the "no ropes" policy was kind of an intentional unwritten rule. I did take these shots on Saturday and later in the day it was more crowded but most people were pretty cooperative if they noticed somebody pointing a camera. At least they were in the Road Rocket's Room. I've got plenty more pics, I'll try to load up some more this evening when I get home.
Here's another batch. I'm figuring that somebody here's gonna spot a shot of their own wheels. OK...OK...So I didn't only take pictures of just the cars. But you gotta break up the routine sometimes! And this was too good of a photo-op to p*** up. I've turned into a bit of a Road Rockets junkie here in the last couple years. Their Rumble car show in the summer is well worth the trip from Ft Wayne, even if it's a little rainy or the motel floods.
Here's a last batch of pictures from the World Of Wheels show at Indy. Wish I could have been around when, or if, they fired up that old track racer. It had a Chrysler grille shell which looked pretty cl***y but seemed kind of unusual on this type of car.
I've be going to World of Wheels since the '70's The back room with the tradiotional rods has become the absolute highlight of the show. I think they need fewer roped of show cars and more Motorama. I hope they can expand the area.
