help ID this car from shopclass

hey guys, just found a picture of a car we started working on my senior year in highschool in shop cl***. it was back 2000, i remember doing some minor bodywork and primering but thats all we could get done before i graduated. i never found out what happened to it. thanks for the help. p.s. im the strapping young lad on the right, not that anyone gives a rats ***.

 

could i be way off if i said a 40 chevy coupe?
