Not much to look at really, just another SBC. I don't have the budget for decent looking valvecovers so it was either these or stamped steel chinese chrome ones.

It is a 400 with a larger cam (hopefully not too much), 2.02/1.60 SS valves and a bunch of other stuff.

Still looking for a cheap intake. I'm trying to keep it looking like it's not right out of 1975 (I know the valvecovers don't help), but that's why it has a short W/P and hopefully an intake with a oil tube.

I started with a 283, then a 327 and both turned out to be bad, then I found this barely used 400 for less than the other two. Cleaned it up, put in new rings, bearings etc etc. basically a rebuild without having to bore it. It was still within spec for stnd. bore.

  2. What kind of intake?

I have a mid 60's cast GM intake and it has the fill tube.

That 400 looks good, VC are bolt on, don't sweat 'em.

There's nothing wrong with a 400 or those M/T VCs. Looks good.

That is a sweet ride. My grandfather had an old panel truck when I was real young...have a soft spot for em. Best thing is you can cruise and have fun and make a home depot run at the same time.
