Don't worry, it's not worth driving for.. unless it changes this year. Mostly musclecar and racing stuff.. but someone did show up year before last with a old dirt track '34 coupe, which I still regret not buying... But, I'll be there anyway, just because I like to look at junk... Brian
A dirt track '34 coupe? I didn't see it. How could I have missed that? I did give a lot of thought to the '38 Ford Convertible project car. I nixed it because of the Mustang II front end conversion. I believe that I would have bought it if the original front axle setup was under it. The guy was trying to make a big selling point to me of that MII front end conversion...and he couldn't understand why I would want buggy suspension...duh. The Model A bodies that were there were priced out of sight...and they went home unsold. Yeah, plenty of musclecar stuff...but isn't that the case at every show and swap that isn't specific to hot rods?
Got to work but I'm going to try to sneak out for just a bit to quickly see whats there. Don't need another car. Have too many projects now but I may find a part or two I'm looking for. Never know whats there. Thanks, BOBBY FORD
Well, not much there this year either.. that would interest most hambers, anyway. But hey, a cold day at the swap meet is better than a warm day at work, anytime.. but I gotta post a pic of my score.. been looking for a set of these for a while.. happened to walk up just as the dude took them out of the truck. And didn't have to pay ebay price either... and just couldn't pass up this cool cooler. Never seen a blue one.. especially not a porterator! Brian
I just about froze! The weather forecasters were wrong (again). I did pickup a few items at what I thought were bargain prices...like a pair of NOS directional (arrow) turn signals that I plan to use on my BB truck for $15. There was a noticeable decrease this year in the number of parts for Twenties and Thirties cars. Still plenty of Forty and up parts, though. I found out about a big Model A swapmeet that was happening in Cullman at the armory, so I headed up there about mid-day. I asked several locals where it was, but nobody knew. I even went to the Cullman library, and they didn't know. They didn't even have a city map! I never did find it. I headed back to the fairgrounds, and I heard later that the Cullman show was packed with parts and people.
