I know some folks dont like these some do. Here they are on an early flathead Edmunds intake. I like the way they craved out the back for close fit multi carb setups.
I'll bet those work great though. I could get over the demon logo for good performance. how much are those things? Would look great on the new lincoln 8x2 setups...
Fit the generator on the front to hide the logo and they won't look too bad. Definitely not Strombergs and won't fool anybody, but they aren't horrid.
To be honest, only us freakish purists are gonna notice the difference, and maybe that is it. The average Joe don't know. Hell, I honestly don't think they look so bad.
i think if you polished up the intake it might make the carbs look better you've got nice and new carbs ,shiny stacks then that old weatherd intake. it might just be me but. kinda looks like a turd with cherrys on top. no offence sv, very kool set up for a non traditional rod.
90% of the people looking at our cars would never know that those carbs are not 97's. Those same people don't even know what a 97 is!! The demon logo does need to go. A more nostaglic logo would be cool. My hat's off to Barry for at least trying to make products that will continue to make Hot Rodding (not just Street Rodding) a viable Hobby for us all. if they work anywhere as good as the Demon i have on my 51 i really wouldnt care what they looked like. the question i have is are they easy to tune/jet like their big brothers?
They will never be traditional. They are for the Street Rod crowd.... you'll never see them on a pure traditional rod.
The only part that sticks out to me is the big-*** throttle linkage plates on the side. With a more streamlined linkage (like an eelco), they'd look pretty good. I'd love to try 6 of them on a blown motor -- just to see how they'd perform as compared to a couple 750's.
Yeah, I'd ditch the throttle linkage, but those carbs are pretty sweet. All that 'non-traditional' talk is drivel. Don't sweat the small stuff.
traditional or not if they work for you do it ,they look pretty ok to me ,couldnt be any less traditional then people who paint chrome grills, and put chevy engines in fords, and there is alot of that **** around
Rounded corners, ground off Demon logo, better looking linkages, and fillister head screws like the carbs of old; now that I've told you what to do with your stuff, I'll go fiddle with mine. Actually, I would do the aforementioned things if they were mine. A fellow could rub the rest of the gold chromate off, if you didn't mind the "zinc" finish.
I think the demon Logo should be erased, who already try them? I'm curious about the gain you could have.
I'm sorely tempted for my next build...will be blown 284, but I want 4 carbs, so I'll likely end up with 48s & 97s as I've got several of those...
Wow they look good but damn there pricy I see that jegs sells them for $395 each I dont know if other places sell them cheaper but its still alot of cash for a non-traditional carb. I deffiently like those stacks alot -Jon
Not bad looking I would consider running on a future project and I would like to see how they perform on my 283 vs my 97's 27
sure beats over 500 bucks a piece im looking at for one weber 48! i kinda like the demons, if they work run em.
Look good to me. I plan on running them on a custom '63 Pontiac tri-power setup if the performance feedback is as good as I expect it to be. Would I put them on a '32 Ford... probably not. What does that make them, a crossover carb?
