Well we still have 3 hours to go before it is Friday morning but what the hell: A trophy I just finished for an upcoming car show put on by Yesterday's Collection in Ann Arbor Michigan A brush box My,"***istants"or partners in crime if you will A tribute plate to Ed Roth(the stickers have his birth date and date of p***ing in them)
This is only my second post as I do not have good stuff to show, I can only offer these of my own. But I have enjoyed your stuff and have asked one of my Hero's to drop in and post some of his stuff for you later. Watch for CRF.
You are a RULER in france Etienne... Heres a 11x17 poster looks better blown up for Roothawgs event. Anyone seen Root lately? Tornado's and Hula Doll in Illustrator all vector after I did it in pencil, then ink, then a scan and so on... I got a new Wacom Tablet to draw with its HUGE and i love it.
heres the one I did last year... I think they're funny. I also would change a bunch of **** on both of them after looking at em... especially after a week but where does it end?? At some point you have to call the race. Safari that painted spider in bones is KOOL. Tuck
..been busy, real busy/did not do this..a good friend and amazing artist (Doug Fraser) did this chebby.....neet tech...gotta go.
Well it's Friday here too and since I've been practising, I guess it's time I added some Carpsart to the board. I did this to the glovebox lid of my '33 last week. Wotcha reckon? I should give it away or keep trying till I get it right?

looks good carps! Ray, can you give us a little tech on how you made the trophy? i dig your 1-shot can statues they are neat, do you use empty 1-shot cans? what do you clean them with/seal them with?
Yeah, that koop is way cool, I figure it's a resin body, correct? Far as my 'artwork' goes, you can blame Whodaky. Whe I first picked up the brush about five weekends ago, instead of tellin me what I did was ****, he encouraged me and said I'd be OK if I practised. DAMN! That practice is adictive and I've now messed up a whole bunch of stuff, including this box I got to put all my paints and **** into.
another busy damn week. not to many pictures taken but I snapped off a few, most of which didnt turn out. Doesnt pay to use a digital camera when you never look at the picture you just took.
Ray, I love the tribute plate, very cool. Lot's of other nice stuff here. K&R, that's how I'd like my '48 to look. I've got the stance now I just need the chop.
Yeah, the base kit is the Revell '48 Ford convertible. This body is a resin. I chopped the top on it, and the original caster is now going to cast this chopped version. I'll know more after I send this one to him...

[/ QUOTE ] Rob:The trophy was fairly easy to do.The base was a yard sale find(a hardwood clock)for 25 cents. It had a hole already drilled and counterbored in the base. The 1-Shot can I didn't even wash out;picked it out of the trash and drilled holes top and bottom.Bolted it to the base and filled it with Speedi-Dri(for weight and to make it less explosive). The top was part of a box of trophy parts I bought at a swap meet once for about $2(I think there were a dozen of them).I cut a slot in the base with my yard sale miter saw($3)and glued the plate on with Gorilla Glue. The striping brush was one that didn't work very well.I cleaned the oil out and put the hair in clear craft glue and formed it to shape as it dried and then attached it with the same glue. I'm making several for an upcoming motorcycle show and will show them when they're finished. They are H-D rear sprockets that are going to be rough-ground and then candied with various colors.I'm going to use one of those folding picture stands for the base(more glue)and attach a model chopper in the middle(available at the local Big Lots for about $2 apiece)and a royal flush poker hand(I'll probably photocopy those)in a fan shape underneath the bike. It's for a memorial poker run for a friend who died last year. Will post pics. Ray
I've been pretty busy, so not much to show, but here is a sign I made for a guy. It is made of 10 gauge steel.
[ QUOTE ] 1-Shot can I didn't even wash out;picked it out of the trash [/ QUOTE ] So now my question is, how do ya use all the paint and still have such a neat and tidy can afterwards?
yeah im a messy as hell painter...my BIGGEST pitfall on jobs is getting paint fingerprints all over that i have to wipe off...i do the screw in the top of the can thing which I really love, but i dont know how the hell I get so messy!!!!!! from the minute I need to put my thumbs on the screw to take it off my hands are covered in paint tech: "how to keep your hands and stuff clean when striping!"
