1954 triumph pre unit bobber

 

Here's mine, got it from Hatch a while ago. So far February is the only month I haven't ridden since I started last July. There hasn't been a day this month with no snow or slush on the roads.

If only there existed a website dedicated to Bobbers, Choppers and other traditional style motorcycles.

 

this is something I am tinkering with...1947 jawa with a 71 Honda cl350 motor. Just for the hell of it...probably will never see the road but it is a start to give me ideas for my triumph bobber I want to put together.

and yes we get it...go over to JockyJournal site...hell I didn't even know it existed until this thread. I just registered and will go post about hot rods and customs over there and be sure to mention you guys said it was A-OK!!

 

damn i had two of them. both got stolen. never took a pic of them. it haunts me i never took pics. sorry this post just reminded me of my two oil leaks!

Here's the custom I'm building now...doesn't really fit into a bobber/chopper/cafe category, so I stick with "custom". It's a BSA, but close enough.

Just a stupid question...why do you call them "Bobbers"?

I think it comes from "bobbing" as in shortening the length of or complete removal of the fenders. I think, as I haven't been around bikes all that long. P.S. there's a "b" in dumb ass

DAMN!!! Now that is pretty much what I am looking to put together. I have been looking for a bsa or triumph to start working on but that is pretty much the bike. I just have to finish a few projects first.

 

This isn't mine, but the guy wanted to take my pic on it at the car show, so here it is.

 

Here my 69, or what I have put together so far. Looking for rear motor mounts?

slddnmatt, any more pics of your pops' bike? i think that knobby tire looks killer.

 

That sure looks familiar. I bought a basket case 51 Triumph in 1957 and pieced it together. Had that same knobby tire and it was running a bates simple saddle with a cheap vinyl seat cover; NO REAR FENDER... I still have the bike, the tire, the seat with the tread mark on it from knobby biting it on rapid accelaration. Also got my jeans and bit my toosh.

heres my 67 triumph, 650 with a single amal carb. it was a retro restoration of an original chopper. when I got it it had a bolt on hard tail,stock rear fender with a really tall one piece king and queen seat,pitch fork sissy bar, coffin tail light, magnito ingintion, 2 (upper/lower) triangle head lights. I nixed all that stuff and put some modern touchs on it...welded the frame into one piece,solo seat,custom rear fender,front brakes, drag bars ,electronic ignition, 12 volt set up,all new chrome & tires ect.
front end is a durfy (<SP?) girder front fork (springer) chrome invader wheels,sporty tank.
I sold it a few years ago for new project cash!
