For those of you who didnt make it, you missed a great time. Make sure that put it on your calendar for next year. The Torques put on an outstanding event and will probably be even better next year.
I've been goin to the races a long time and I've never ever ever never seen anyone make as many laps as Casey did except at a roundy round track. That is one bullet proof ride, even if the grille is held on by bailing wire.
We had over 600 through the gate...not sure how many racers but the pits were full and if you have never seen their pits, they are very large and all concrete. Having a good track behind us with lots of experience helped us a bunch. Thanks to all that supported us and made this an unbelievable event.
to bad I missed it but I did get a bunch of great deals at the swapmeet that way maybe next year if its not at the same time as the swapmeet I can go with my 36 pickup now that the motor is going to be real healthy with some of the cool stuff I got.
Heres a few pics I took Friday night. Sure hated to mis the drags saturday. It Looks like it was a blast! had to stay at the swap meet and try to make some money. Damn that racing fuel makes a good fire starter!
Those pics of the barrel are the ones I wanted to see. I ran to get more wood for the guys that were spending the night and Robert lit it before I got back ! I enjoyed making the burn barrel for the Torques They put on a heck of an event for everybody, can't wait for next year....Dennis
great to meet ya doc . and it was dam fun racing with you ! I`m glad you gave me at least one car to race in D/gas with a equalizer ! and I don`t have a place for all these dam trophy`s I like to think of my self as more of a time slip whore !
That barrel was everyones saving grace on Friday nite. Oh and I did not start the fire, but I heard that my 110 octane fuel for my car help get it started. When I saw the flames 5-6 ft. out of the barrel all that was going through my head was, WOW now thats a FIRE!
THAT - is one kick-ass-smokin' burn barrel. I can assure you, it will be back for the 2009 Texas Thaw. It saved our asses, Friday night. Thank you Robert and Dennis. Ya know what, now that I think of it, hell, it was a cold night, we had a big-ole pot of Texas Red chilli with all the fixins, fresh, hot fajitas and tortillas right off the grill with all the fixins, drag races going in, adult beverages, fan-damn-tastic fellowship happenin', man, it don't get much better than that.
