Bill and I managed to get in the shop before all the snow came, Just the two of us with no distraction, well with not a lot of distraction! I realize that when you have fun at something you tend to forget about things like eating! Bill and I spend another 10-hour day and never have much in the way of a meal all day, anyway the cross members are in and now we wait till the front end parts arrive. We were told Monday but we are not holding our breath? We will set up the front end and see how high the frame sits and then do the rear, Bill came across a neat setup for trailing arms and looking around the shop we came across a lot of the materials we needed. So another problem solved or at least figured out. Here is a link to the build and a few pics

Fitzee...i didn't even think of getting something to eat until I plugged in the kettle at home for a cup of tea!
Man...if we're not careful we'll waste away to less than 200 lbs!!! Hahahaha

The Truck arm design wasn't my idea!
I found it right here on the good'ol HAMB!
We have some tapered 2x3 tube we're, ahhhh...borrowing...from Leon, that we're gonna split, flip and plug weld into flexible "I" beams and reinforce at the axle connection for U bolts around the housing. Large rubber bushings up front with the pivots at the tailshaft area.
Simple, reliable and good looking...just like me and Fitzee!

the next Saturday build...we're having Pizza. ;)

Leons Stash!! man that is going to go to his head. Bill.I just did a measurement and I think we have a 9 inch with a older housing. Both housing that I have, the good one and bad one with axles are both 56 to the flanges, all I have to check is if the bearings are the right size. Still need your backing plates and drums and maybe the center section.Don`t know if the weather damaged the gears. If any body drops by today I`ll get them to help me drag it in from the snow.

Well...I think those pieces might have been the full extent of Leon's "stash", so I guess we cleaned him out!!! Hahaha
He isn't smart enough to bury his home in rusty junk like we are!
    That is smart...right? Hmmmm....

Anyway...that sounds like a good find on the 9". Let me know about the gearing...if needed I'll pull my housing apart and get the center and hopefully the brake parts are useable too.
Whats the gearing on the axle you have?
I think mine are 3.25's...not sure if thats enough for an automatic late Flatty.
Those axles 5 1/2 bolt circle?
I have some other ge****ts to pick from but access might be an issue with the snow and all...

Awesome progress guys, this is one of the coolest things that I have seen in a long time. TONS of good karma should be coming your way, very inspiring.

I like the way that you guys did the frame miter cuts, that will crazy strong with the backing plates in there. Wish that you weren't so crazy far away, I would love to help out. Keep up the great work

Homebuilt makes the best ride and it goes without saying the pride you have when it's done. Just can't imagine the obsticles you guys overcome putting this all together. Trying to scrounge parts, fighting bad weather and going hungry. But we all know that it will be worth all of that in the end.

Keep up the good work fellas andd keep us informed.

You can clean out my stash for Andy any day.............

As for the rusty junk..............i aint touch'n that.

And not eating...........i remember Thursday nite kinda looked like a weigh****chers meeting.

Sorry i missed Saturday................this damn contractor wanted the garage back filled then he changed his mind 1/2 way and i had to remove it all again.

Will pick up those parts on Monday and bring to Fitzees. Fingers crossed that it will keep us moving forward.

And for the current parts needed list, i appoligise i have not got fitzees list or the list at Andys.........but i will get it posted asap.

I wish some of you guys did live closer, Andy is one kool cat and to be a part of this build is simply amazing. To listen to Bill and Fitzee.......confusing;)
