Hi all, I just bought a 41 3W Zephyr coupe and will have many many questions about it. Don't have any photos yet as it is still in storage until I empty my garage. It is just a rolling body with serious rust on the lower 3 inches. Came with nos hood, decklid and front fenders, so I am sure to need rear fenders, skirts, and the parts that connect the rear fenders and the part that goes between the front fenders. Anyone with parts for sale please contact me. I know I will have a lot of patching to do so first I am going to buy a welder and take a fabrication and welding class. Anyone in the San Bernardino area with a Z coupe can advise me? I need to media blast it first to assess the condition of the metal. Any leads? Any pitfall I should avoid? What's an off-the-cuff value on a car like this? It has seat frame, new dash, some instruments, some messedup chrome. I think I am going the custom route but don't want to chop it; just slam it. Any thoughts? Thanks
Take your time with all the patch work. Practice your welding alot before you start on the car. Please don't ruin a zephyr. Post updates as you progess, I always love seeing pics of zephyrs.
My post asked so many questions I was afraid it got missed. I paid $5,000 for it so I am a little concerned. I realize without pictures its nearly an impossible question to answer. Thanks
Zepyrs are amongst the nicest cars ever produced anywhere. When done up right the are a pleasure to behold, even in stock trim. The Zepyhrs where the brainchild of Edsel Ford. Edsel was far ahead in his designs of the 30's and 40's cars. The 41 Zepyhrs are considered one of the most beautiful cars ever produced anywhere. I would kill for a chance to own one. You are one lucky dog...... I don't think you paid alot but it's hard to pin a price on a car you can't see. .
5 grand is cheap for that car. I know of one for sale that maybe a little better thats 2 1/2 times what you paid for that one. Good luck, but thats not really a car to "learn " on. If you mess something up let say warp a panel, your in trouble. Once again good luck. PM me . if you need lincoln parts.
Nothin's cooler than a lincoln zephyr, the coupes seem to bring insane money. 5 grand has to be a bargain if it's fairly solid. The parts are pricey. Headlight trim for my '37 is probabley going to cost me more than I paid for the car.
Contact Merv Adkins out of Pamona. He jas every part you need to complete your car. His contact information is on the LZOC web page. Best of luck! Bye the way, you didn't buy that Zephyr over the Ranger chassis did you?
