I have a bunch of wheels that look like #1 and a few that look like #2. The size of the #2 are 17" to 19". I haven't measured the #1's but i do have one set of 21" #1's.

Are they both model a wheels? Why do they look different? I like the #1 style better.

Only the #1 wheel is a model a wheel. The other is a later Ford wheel

I think that #1 are model A and #2 are for later fords like 32s. model As got lots of later wheels put on them as tires got smaller and wider.

    '28 and '29 were 21", '30-'31 were 19", '32's were 18". '33-'34 were 17", '35's were 16", After that, Ford factory wheels were solid.

Kelsey hayes made a "bent spoke" wire for Fords (as well as for many other makes) that is often confused with the 16" "straight wire" that came standard on 35 Fords. KH used to be the way to go, but '35 wires are becoming as popular, if not more so.

Used to be you couldn't give these Ford wires away..... Now the 18", 17", and especially the 16" Ford wires are getting a little spendy.

The #1 wheel is a 21" Ford wheel from 1928-29. Check the condition of the rolled outer rim for rot and rust. They are a bit more popular now that adaptors are out there to allow you to use them on Model T Ford speedsters.

#1 looks like a 1926/1927 Model T wire wheel to me. I could definitely say (since I own a Model T with wire wheels) if you can tell me the inside diameter of both a) the brake drum and b) the hub cap hole.
