i like the quote " kulture is gay"..i thought guys who dont like girls were gay...i think i see cars in thoses photos ,so whats the problem? he is taken photos of what we all enjoy,i saw no photos of just girls with tattoos or girls with mary janes...i see cars.stop busting his balls, this forum tends to shoot down shit all the time, tell me which one of you would'nt want to have your car in a shoot with any one of thoses girls pictured...you want to see traditonal girls, well i will roll out my grandmother and drape her on my shoebox just like 57 years ago, sure you would like to see that, we dont want to see girls that exist today do we?..this dude did nothing wrong, customs are in the photos..or do we need more threads about friggin fiats, peoples fridges!!! and other NON car related crap

Unionville Haunt: Perhaps I am a little off the mark, but I just took one look at the first photo of that curvacious, dark haired, girl next door pinup (think Bettie Page) without a tattoo in sight and felt compelled to stand up for the kid.
I'm not a fan of the tatted out "white trash" pinups either, or a majority of the pieces of crap they are often draped across, but every one of the kid's pics has a NICE car in it somehwere, even if some skank is blocking the view of a choice tuck and roll job.
I'm just a little confused how we can jump in this kids shit for professing love of a "scene" when it's clear he shares an appreciation for quality rides and girls. As has already been pointed out, we already lose a lot of sleep on the HAMB replying to threads that have little or no merit and aren't even remotely related to cars. I think rather than run this young dude off, we might gently nudge him into a traditional state of mind.
It's not like he was posting pics of the Halloween merc with some tatted out orcabettie on it. I'm just saying.

Well said brother...! Is your grandmother hot??? J/K.

I agree with everything you are saying here. Time for some to get of their damn soapboxes. The arrogance exuded here by some is just as bad as the billet laden street rodders of the 90's.

    Totally! Totally agree.

Hence why what I said in the begining. I still think that kulture stuff is ridiculous, but Id love to see what he can do w/ a decent SLR like I have. He definately has the eye for not only the pic but the editing.

Hey J.....way to stand up for yourself. Check out BOOKZ's profile. You see, he is an expert because of the following. 1) He recently rediscovered his interest in traditional rods and joined the HAMB a year ago. 2) He listed his tradtional rods, of particular cool factor are his 94 Mercedes and his 97 MGF. Hell, I didn't even know that Mercedes made a viable platform in 1894 that could be hot rodded. 3) He sells toys cars and books about cars, so he must have extensive knowledge. Check out his picture link, it looks alot like our shop, except the cars aren't real.....and are little tiny toy cars.....and almost none of them are traditional.........

Lessee, 16 year old kid posts some pics of old cars and girls (his passion) and gets raked for it...Car and Girls, if that ain't traditional I don't know what is. Or have you limp dicked old men forgotten part of what hotrods are for...??

Don't let these prattling old FAGS discourage you kiddo, they're just jealous cause their willies don't work like it did when they were 16...build yourself a cool hot rod and you'll be beating the ladies off with a stick!

Exactly what the last guy said, some one is always going to be dogging what ever you do. Dont ever let anyone tear your dreams for you.

I think photography and cars go to gether very well, its my hobby outside of wrenching on my car, as a matter of fact here are a couple of shots i took this weekend that I LOVED, the only way you are going to get good at it is to get some thing and go for it, i am waiting on summer then i have some "models aka hot chick friends" who are going to pose on cars for me, just so i can see what it is like, everyone has there genre you just have to find yours....

BTW you dont need to waste your money on buying some super expensive camera, most SLRS that are of moderate quality are under 1k now a days, i probably have a couple of thousand invested in my photography equipment, but i support a local car group and do all the photography for them.... Mine is just a Cannon Digital Rebel, the way to get good shots is to read on how to work the camera, dont let it do all the work for you....

    none of mine are photoshopped

If you want to see what can be done with a point and shoot, check out Coby's work in "Church" magazine. Cars not Culture. Coby is a ruler.

Well, as you see kid: anything worth doing, is worth over-doing to somebody. That includes taking a "kulture" too far, and it also includes taking the backlash against said "kulture" too far.

Be a sponge, soak up everything you like, filter it, and discard what doesn't ring true to you.

    Sweet Hombre! 954-555... :D

As for the HAMB nazi police, I have commented on this before. God forbid someone doesn't agree with your perspective! Hot rods and hot women have been photographed together for decades! Granted, the women today show a bit more than the women of yesteryear, but then again, that can be found everywhere today! As for the tattoos, regardless of your personal feelings, they seem to be here for good. It is what it is, but slaughtering a 16 year old kids artistic photos because they have women in them is downright insulting! Someone in this thread commented that culture is just what people do. Well, I am doing. I live, sleep, and breathe customs and rods. My home is completely dedicated to them. So I guess I do live the custom culture that a few on here continue to bash.

  20. man if liking hot rods and trashy women is wrong-i don't wanna be right.

  21. Funny...when I go to shows and post about 100 or so pic's,the first post that comes up that's not mine always says "Bad Bob...where's the chicks?" Now i'm not taking anybody side, but I think you should search for the "Cool pic's,post them here",thread. Put your photos on there and i'm sure you won't get any grief. Custom or culture, with a "K" isn't gonna make you any friends here. Too much like Old Skool Rods shit!

Its a nice family type shot. Certainly not Kustom Kulture type crap I was talking about. If you read my post I was saying that back in the day the girlfriends and sisters were part of the photo whereas in the Kustom Kulture type shots the tatooed underdressed tarts are the photo and the car becomes secondary.
At the start of this nowhere does it mention that this was a 16 year old posting and in my second post I said that the second lot of photos that were his own work were really good shots. I also suggested a exceptional photographer whose work he should check out for some ideas.
I still believe the Kustom Kulture thing is just the latest fad and the sooner it burns out the better.

I remember those dudes, Chris. Funny stuff.

My problem lies with those people who feel that kulture and cars are synonymous and dependent upon one another. This couldn't be further from the truth.

Kulture as we see it today has it's roots in fashion and punk as it does in 50s rockabilly. Pin-ups are fine, but just like many of the cars built today, the modern scene has taken something old to a whole new level. Bigger pomps, more tats, porn inspired pin-ups, cars so radically chopped and channeled they're not drivable. Though it may be scene, it often makes a mockery of the tradition that those who truly love it are trying to carry on, and sometimes even a mockery of itself. This is NEO-TRADITIONAL

Then there are those who are here for the love of cars, and who are not concerned with the peripheral BS. These people walk among us unnoticed. They do not have pompadours, cuffed jeans, listen to Tiger Army, or take swing lessons. They build cars, not because they are trendy, but because it's what they love.

These two groups are very much INDEPENDENT of each other, regardless of what kind of cars end up in the latest Good Charlotte video
