Holy Shit!!!! http://www.internationaltrucks.com/DMAXX/ I want one. Hope this is new info, if not please delete Thank You
I think thats a damn good looking OTR truck. Beats the looks of the other shitboxs rolling down the road these days.
rest assured when you do see one , you will be crusin down the road on your scoot or hot rod minding your own bussiness and this thing will be climbing up your ass..
Looks like enough fuel tanks on that thing to go around the world about 3 times. Not too sure I like the radical design, but I do appreciate the effort. First thought is that is seems a bit decorated and flashy to the point of just a bit overdone, but that will probably sell well pretty well to a certain crowd. Now that redone pickup....?? is that for sale? I hope not. Not that it is that bad (except for the radials and bit too modern interior details), but I am a bit tired of all the redone retro modern things - PT Cruisers (and the obvious Chevy rip-off version), Chargers, up coming CamAro (not with an E), that Chevy pickup (forget the name now), etc. Maybe it is just a 1 off marketing thing. I like old cars to be old and new cars to be new with new design too, not some rehashed old design. Theses semis don't seem too bad on first thought though and at least respectable. Just my lame opinion though. I wonder how much one of those run for typically, $150K maybe?
Remember when the '94 Dodge Ram trucks came out they were a "love it or hate it" truck? Well this here is one of them. Love it! BloodyKnuckles
I think you're discussing two different trucks here. I saw one of the Lonestar semis on the road near here a month or so ago, but I didn't see any badges on it at the time or know what it was. International has an engineering facility and a test track in the area so it might have been a mule that they were road testing. I think I like the look of it but they could cut back on a lot of the chrome on the grille for my tastes. The DMAXX appears to be a pickup sized truck but they don't really say if it's anything they're considering for production. I'd doubt it though, as International's been out of the light duty business for probably 30+ years. It makes a great looking show vehicle though.
If they put them D maxx trucks into production, ill probly have to buy one.. I dig em as far as the big truck.. i dig that too..
I love IH pickups. The lonestar OTR has an interesting look. Not quite sure I 100% like. As for the DMAXX, it's not a production truck, it's just a project that someone built. Sure wish IH would bring back their light line though. An affordable work truck that was a truck and not a car with a box. It looked like a truck, rode like a truck, and worked like a truck should. Maybe one day I can actually get some of my IH projects finished. jn6047
I was told they are taking orders on the DMAXX Pickup? Anyone know for sure? I started the thread on the pickup... not the Truck, Guess I have been watching too much Trick My Truck HmmmmmDrrrrrrrr..........
Gay looking new truck. I worked for the White Motor division for 14 years. Now this is a good looking truck!
I'm with you Hotrodrubber , I'd buy one in an instant .If you were goin to re-power a classic that is how it should be done !!
This picture was taken at EXPO86 here in Vancouver, very good looking unit. I drank many a cold beverage about 50 feet to the left of the photo.
I saw the DMAXX '39 at the Chicago Auto Show (the new car one, not the hot rod show). There's never going to be a production version, it's a one-off hot rod built to lure people to their booth at the show. It'd be a liability nightmare for Navistar to build this, and by the time they added federally mandated safety items it would be unrecognizable.
