Hey guys, I just cant figure out where to go with this car.
Part of me things straight axle gasser, part thinks throw on some 15-18'' wheels, lower it, and ride, part of me says metallic blue roof, but i dont think the trim would look good with that.... any ideas, pics, or photoshops are welcome.
    Thanks guys

Here's how I would say to go.Shave the emblems. doors and gass door, lower it to the weeds,15''and 16'' chrome steelies with spider caps paint it a deep metallic blue with a paneled and laced silver flake under same color blue laced panels. Note leave the 3 fake side ports.

that could look cool, but then again im really diggin post #2 also.
BTW, this is also a 4 lug car, so GN wheels are a no go:(
it does have a runnin and driving v6 already tho

    Thanks so far guys!

  6. Everybody has a opinion,,,I like the car,,just as it sits,,maybe the wheels you like,,American Racing wheels can make most wheel patterns on a special order form which is listed on their site.

The car has a lotta class just being a survivor,,,HRP

Convert to 5 lug, Radirs or Supremes with wide whites, flake roof (silver or blue), and dump it. My $0.02.

  11. did I miss the sarcasm?god I hope....i cannot see how putting grand national emblems etc etc on that car would be cool at all...sure, make it a douchebag-mobile...and when you are done with that, get a falcon and put mustang emblems, interior and motor in it...then you could have not one, but TWO douchebag-mobiles. keep it simple, these cars were factory awesome.lower it and change the wheels if you want...or sell it to me(my g/f's fav car)

    BINGO! we have a winner.....

I hear ya on the motor and trans, but the rest of it sounds pretty awful... GN emblems? wheels? interior? Are you aware of where you are?

Those cars always make me think "60's Spy"... dudes dressed in those skinny lapel suits with dark sunglasses and a pork pie hat. If The Saint was made in the US, Simon Templar would have driven a '62 Buick.

Don't shave a thing. Leave all the trim. Just bag it on the stock wheels and caps. Leave the paint simple and shiny. Maybe some subdued, monochrome pinstrips.

    - and buy a new hat.

That thing is in awesome condition! Clean the marks off the front fender, lower it a little, change the wheels (there are dish mags out there that will fit a four lug), add dual exhaust and enjoy it. If my car was anywhere near as nice as that one, I'd consider it finished.

better than putting some dumb shit on it from a mid-late 80's car. of course if you could read you'd see that I said I could see the motor and trans. But then you're probably to retarded from all the drugs you took, that's the only way you could think those wheels and emblems would look good on that car....

I have 2 of those, both 2 dr HTs. Have all the parts I need to do a full custom. I am shaving everything, got a air bag setup, going to put a 57 Corvette grill in it and use only 2 headlites and completely redoing the rear end and lots of other body mods. I have all the parts gathered just need to get after it! Here is what the one looks like now.

  26. I'd probably have to go street gasser style with a 455 Stage-1 and a TH400SP. (I know, I know, it ain't a hot rod if it don't have 3 pedals, say it loud as I go around you.) But that's just because I have a bunch of that junk laying around. I LOVE the black one with the Buick wheels!!!

However, if I was building it the way I'd want it to keep forever, I'd do the GN V6 turbo eng. and 4-speed auto trans, with a nice subtle, white TJ style pleat interior, '67 Buick red and the tire/hub cap combo Toast posted above. Power disk brakes, lowered a couple of inches but nothing radical. My dream '62 Skylark would have all the emphasis on driveability in a world of soon to be $4.00 a gallon gas because, I'd drive the pee water out of it. Good luck and I look forward to seeing it go together for you. Please, keep us posted.

Can one change the roof to a metal flake orange, (the same orange that is used in the "LEARN MORE" link at the top of these page, and maybe add these salt flat special wheels if thats easy, and a quick lower.

    Thanks guys

  28. This one looks good. I'm not a big fan of the wheels but looks good with a few things shaved and on the ground.
