Rod & Kulture puts on a nostalgia drag event

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by zombie, Dec 23, 2007.

  1. Just so I'm clear, a 3 point cage can be run, but only if slower then 9.99, right? What will the top fuel class look like? I'm wondering if their are any front engine fuelers that look the part, but are legal (besides Mr. Tim Conder's). I obviously don't want to see anyone get hurt, but most of the front engine fuelers I see these days look like a rear engine fueler with the engine swapped around. Sounds like a great event, I'm just curious as to what you guys are expecting in that class. In funny car it's easy to hide the moderness, but with a slingshot it's all in the open. It's a long treck for me to be there, so I want to know what's gonna be running before I make my decision. Thanks

we have not been contacted by anybody with a HAMB dragster. i did ad a 6cy/flathead open wheel class to cover the basics. we are getting a big responce from the nostalgia drag bike classes though, so i added a few more. i still have to ad the payouts on the site, but they are:

    1st $1250
    2nd $500
    3rd $250

for all classes except fuel altered and top fuel.

So are the rollbar rules still going to be a little relaxed? My car don't fit the event, I'm not complaining, I dig the idea and can't wait!

yes. we made a few insurance adjustments to allow the 3 point cage for 10 seconds and slower. nostalgia drags and plenty of beer booths should be a good time no matter what.

Thanks for your hard work on this Zombie. Like anything new, it will have "teething" problems.
Just run all those abcd gas guys for a couple hours, (around noon) give every one a chance to leave the stands to look around, drink beer, buy stuff, eat, drink beer, visit, drink beer.
Don't know the tire regulations, but put those 10" Radir slicks on the aa/fuel rails. They will "haze" em the whole 1/4 and still be in the 9's.
I'm stoked, I'll be there, OLY

Do you have a tentative schedule? What time would a guy have to land at LAX to rent a car and make it to the track in time for the racing to start?

Just a thought at this point, but it is the weekend after my birthday.:)

yes. american nostalgia west is the organization we have been talking to. the s/s stuff will be included in the afx class, unless we can get enough to start a seperate class.

Hahaha. Man, I wish I could make the treck. It's not in the cards for me this year, but this event sounds like a really great time. R&K should do a special issue soley on this event with tons of full page pics.
