some great pics here. i've been leisurely looking for a falcon, hoping to trade this truck for it. After seeing these pics, though, I may have spend more effort looking

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but when searching for a falcon, what should I look for? Are there any years that are better than others, in terms of finding replacement parts/aftermarket items or in terms of the specs of the cars? For example, the 1965 nova is a one year body style that looks very similar to 62-64. It has some one year trim pieces that are nearly impossible to find… same for the 62 nova. In 64, they switched to 5 lug and they no longer manufacture four lug drums, so if you buy a 62 or 63, you should buy one that has been converted to 5 lug (and preferably disc brakes) already if you can find one. what do i need to watch out for?

 

thanks for the help. how hard is it to find parts for the 4 lug cars? is it easy to find the parts for the 5 lug conversion?

i like the square falcons better, but they look too much like my nova. i'm looking at the round bodies for something a little different.

 

Kurt's right. I just swapped all my '61 wagon over to Grenada disc brakes and Mustang front end parts...it wasn't hard at all, and cost me around 400 bucks all together...

I like the round bodies better myself. The best of the bunch is the limited production (about 10,000) 1963 1/2. It has the 63 round body, but the 64 roof line. This roofline sits 2" lower than previous and has no b pillers.

discbrakeswap.com, brand new conversion parts, complete clear instructions, and soon to be offered, 2" dropped spindles; complete kit for about $400. I'm not associated with them, but what a nice kit!

I still remember going with my dad to buy the '66 new at Cortese Ford in Richmond when I was 4. It was a 289/2V/3-speed manual/black wheels and dog caps. Every CA car had black plates then.

SCROUNGERS C.C. Project, We just finished hanging the front-end, now its off to another members garage to mock up the 460.. P.S. NEED A WINDSHIELD and SIDE TRIM BOTH SIDES.....

 

This was mine in '64 when new and '67 just before I sold it...

 

Heres somthing a little different, Mustang roof. Ford should have made this.
I think the back window is sligthly flatter than in the sketch.
If i finish this rendering ill have to take some measurements.

Derelicit man what was it like getting one brand new in 64 ? That's the exact model I have now 64 h/t that I have had since I was about 12.My old man had several so when it was time he bought me one.
