    Hey guys,

I'm crossing over from the Jockey Journal to ask a car part question. I'm building a 60's style chopped trike with a 69' shovelhead and Radir wheels with cheater slicks. I'm using a Crime Scene oil tank. I love the look but it only holds 2 qts and I need some extra capaciity to cool the motor. I was thinking about using a repop behive/finned type car oil filter to get some capacity but haven't been able to find much info. Anyone know of any cool looking filters that woulh hold extra oil because of their size that I could use?

    Thx,

    Scotty

  2. How much capacity do you want to add?

What's the oil capacity on a stock Shovelhead?

I'd like to add another quart or two.

Stock, depending on which model, is from 3-4 qts.

With the heavier rear end and gearing the motor is working harder than stock so I'd just like to help it out a little and I need to add a filter of some sort anyway.

Thats what I was originally going to use but figured you guys might know of one that would hold more oil.

We are putting a beehive on my bike. I'm pretty sure it also only holds 2 quarts (w/o the filter). So that should work out for you.

I was saying to use the stock Pan filter, but use a bigger oil tank. Thats not much oil. Like someone said try Moon they have a big selection.
