Running a 346 Caddy flathead in the 1940 Cadillac. Well, there was nothing WRONG with the engine- so why not? ;)

It's rebuilt with shaved heads. I'm trying to find a dual intake for her. This weekend I plan to clean up the gasket surfaces and start ***embling it.

50 Merc dressed to look like early engine in my 39. Repo Thickstun head covers. Used it because it was easier to mount the aluminum 3 speed OD.

    Hmmm...if you have to ask...

Seriously, you're going to put a 70-year old designed, underpowered engine into a late-model orphan (and unattractive) car...

It's your car & engine, do what you like/want. Just because you can, doesn't necessarily mean you should....

'40 Merc in a '30 tudor Highboy Sedan. 20 over pistons, 10 on the crank. '39 top loader, 46/48 banjo rear end with 3:54 ring and pinion. 7:50x16 rear, 5:50x16 front. I cruise at at 60-65 and get 18 plus MPG average.
I might be making a mistake but I'm now installing vintage Offy .375 heads (should be about 8.5 compression since it's a factory relieved block). I'm building my own dual carb intake for two model "59" Holley 94's.

My engine was built in 1969 and sat in storage til I started it for the first time in 2003. It has a very cool factory rebuilt distributor with the Ford re-man decal on it.

I also have a hot rod 8ba that is going in a roadster project, also all vintage parts..

    Long live Flatheads.

yeah, you got me on that one, thats the only reason i can think of why they made one (and i am running a 4 incher, so i guess i should have kept my mouth shut), but my next one will be a true blue 3 7/8. talk about nostalgic. I might even put it in a 21a block just for kicks! although a 21stud would be cool with that. hey, while we are on the topic, was there a designation for the 21 stud motors?

    thanks
