Smallest tire on a 6" wide rim?

What is the narrowest tire I can put on a 6" wide rim without having a lowrider look. I did some searches but couldn't find a good answer. I've got a pair of 15x6 torqu thrusts for the front of my 30 Model A coupe that I am putting it on a 32 frame with no fenders. I want to run radials with blackwalls. I know, I know, not the most traditional!
    Is a 185 to narrow?

    155 is too narrow, barely.
    185 is made for a 6" rim.

Just curious do you know of a chart that shows what will fit what width rim? That would be a handy thing to bookmark if i could find one.

Common rule of thumb is about 1" wider or narrower than the other part.
So a 5" wide tire is the minimum and a 7" wide tire the maximum on a 6" rim...

You also have to take into consideration the aspect ratio or height of the tire. A 50 series will fit the rim differently then a 70 or 75 series.

165's are ok, but only just - the sidewall barely bulges out past the rim.

155's would definitely look stretched, and a 185 would fit the rim well, but may look too big for the front of a fenderless Model A.

    Here's some 165 Michelins on 15x6 Torque Thrust's ...
