Just Curious. Apparently, all of us Austin clowns are in for a rude awakenng when they move to town in 4 months. Somebody tell South Austin Speed. surely this will have them quaking in thier boots, too.

I'm actually a little proud! Our shop is now well know enough that a shop I have never heard of is gonna sweep into town and steal all of our customers! I'm like a proud papa. I am now officially famous. I'm the guy to knock off of this giant Ivory tower.

(unfortunately, my "Ivory tower" Is a toilet bowl. and all of my Customers are my buddies, so there's no getting rid of them-worst case scenario is I would have to go back to doing this out of my carport. You know...back when I made money at it. this whole endevor actually stemmed as a way to get all of my friends cars off of my lawn. really.)

  11. Unclescooby's from IN, and I recently saw something with a shop name on it ... I'm thinking it was on the "I got this Airflow Now what do I do with it?" thread. Sorry, scooby, the opportunity keeps knocking.

Awesome! I've been meaning to pick me up a rat rod! (don't look in my garage. That would be a whole other debate.)

Lux, I'd have come to you a long time ago if I'd known you had rats!

Bloomington is nice, it's the home of John Hoosier Melonhead, and there's little pink houses for you and me.

The last one was Ed posting as me. he had quite a rant going on.

I'm reminded of a few years ago, I wandered into one of my favorite Bars, Casino El Camino. the new bar across the street was called "Burbon Rocks" and was owned by some group of Bar owners from New Orleans. they came into Casino ( who is both a person, and the name of the bar) and actually said these words...

"We're gonna show You boys how this is done."

suffice to say. Casino is still there (with the best damn Jukebox in Austin, by the way) and Borbon Rocks is a Sign on an empty building.

    Shame...it was nice inside, too.

LOL, I love the empty threats like that.

About six years ago we had a huge boom in hotrod shops here in Phoenix. I even had one of the guys stop in, he called himself Dave's Rod & Custom and used the Rod & Custom magazine logo on his business card! Balzy right? He came in very blustry and self important and told me if there was anything ch***is wise that I couln't handle to feel free to send it his way.

I had similar comments made from other shops about how they were the new blood in town and were going to shut the old guys down. I actually took that as a compliment, being lumped in with the old guys.

Well, years later I and my old guy hot rod shop counterparts are still kicking and absolutely know one has heard from the young turk startups....
