mate, don't come on here and ask dumb ass questions.

do a search for starters. Air ride have a website.

Secondly, not that I know much about bagging a car, but if you use the original shocks they should work?!? as they were made for the weight of the car.

engine rebuild kits are available KANTER does them and a few other places. again do a google search. BUT that will depend on what motor is in your 57?

Nailheads arent cheap, and finding a place in Australia that has even seen one might be enough hassle.

if your a bit more specific with your questions we might be able to help you.
put up a pic of your ride and some details we would like to see it.

Measure the collapsed length of the shock you need with the suspension compressed or "down". If you want a firm ride use a gas charged shock, for a softer ride use a hydrolic shock. Heres a few I use regularly:

    Gas charged (firm)-
    KYB 'white body'
    Pro-Comp ES9000
    Rancho RSX

    Hydrolic (soft)-
    KYB GR2 series 'gray body'
    Pro-Comp ES3000
    Rancho RS5000

 pretty uncalled for message flatoz
fnjunk what brand of bags are you running? Look into slam specialties, they are thicker/stronger and run an internal bumpstop. I havent bagged a 57 myself, but sometimes running shocks made for the car work. Best bet is to get a measurement of the car with the bags at full deflate and work with a parts store on getting shocks that fit.
Billstein shocks are a nice brand

The most important thing to know is, What size bags are you running? Bag size is # 1 issue on ride quality.

If you had ANY idea of the Aussie hot rod marketplace and government regulations, you might respond the way Flatoz did too ! ;)

I would do the same thing everyone else is saying measure your shocks all the way compressed. I would go with the Bilstien shocks great product. Slam Specialties bags, or Firestone.

did you remove the front swaybar? if so put it back on, but it sounds like the bags may be the wrong size if you have shocks on it now

So are you saying you bagged the car with no shocks? I don't understand this if you did, it's pretty silly, it'll ride like ass just as if you removed the shocks and left the regular springs. If you left the shocks and bagged it then I think your choice of bags is way off...

firstly your pretty new here yourself. Secondly most Aussies here dont want someone asking a question to make us look like ass's.

HOWEVER. if you read all of my reply, I answered most of his questions, pointed him in the direction to get rebuild kits AND asked to see a picture of his car, as I like booiks

also check out the 'rules' that ryan wrote in the 'introduce yourself area'

    3. Gotta easy question? Try using the search function first.

not getting into a pissing comp. But asking slightly more specific quesitons will get him much better answers.

I know a bit about nailheads - have a 401- and where in Melbourne you could get work done on the motor. Also know a few guys who have bagged cars, so they could help too.

its all about helping, but you only get the help you need if you ask the questions to get the right answers.

So fnjunk, wheres the picture of that booik? I get a hard on for these. Check out Brandy's post on Drewfus's 55, due in the country soon.

Offy still make some cool stuff for the nailhead. Check out my post on nailhead dressup stuff, and you will see some cool shit people have posted photos of.

Oh fusick over east has parts for buicks too, they might have the front end stuff. I know the 57's you can easily do a disc conversion on them unlike the 55-6 with the kingpin front ends.

good thing we dont have to worry about that here in the states because if we did we would look like the laughing stock of the world. and like my collage professor said "there is no such thing as a stupid question."

57 Buick balljoints are one year only & they are stupid expensive, especially the lowers.

I've seen nailhead rebuild kits listed on Ebay recently.

If it's bagged in the front you aren't going to be able to run the stock style shock. It will have to be one that mounts similar to a two wheel drive Chev pickup shock from mid 60's to mid 80's

    Photos will help here.

What i was after is someone to recomend which shocks to use (from there experience)

As for engine rebuild kit & Front end kit know about Kanter & bells thought there might be some were in the states i was unawere of.
SOrry i was vague the first time around thanks to all you guys trying to help a DUMB ASS AUSSIE ,can't belive copped crap from one of my own .

Hey.....Remember, I supported the bloke that give you shit too!!!! and Im FROM Australia as well. ;)

Now that you've asked an intelligent question, you may get some useful, meaningful answers.

In the spirit of constructive helpfulness,
    May I ask YOU......

1)Am I correct in reading that you splashed out a heap of cash on an airbag set-up without rebuilding the front end first?????

2)Did YOU install the bags YOURSELF, or did a (no need to specify)shop do it for you?

3)Which Certified Engineer signed off on your project?

4)When can we see a pic of your cruiser?....it must look AWESOME all bagged out :D
