No Chromers on the HAMB?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by CURIOUS RASH, Feb 28, 2008.

  1. Maybe I'll try that- I've got a couple bumpers I need plated...

  2. Certianly not trying to snake customers away from anyone, and I cannot attest to thier prices, quality or relilability, and they are'nt HAMB affiliated, but thought I'd throw up a link to a chromer that I came across, lot of rice bike customers, but they seem pretty diverse in what they can do and offer...

HI, I use a place in Milwaukee Wi. called exclusive metalfinishing. Man and woman team that only is looking for customers that want top flight work done at reasonable prices. I just recently had them redo some hidden hinges that another shop couldnt get right, the charge was only 200.00. Would have been cheaper if they had done them to start with. If any of you are interested, pm me and I will forward their phone and address to you. Dave

  4. What is the going rate for bumpers such as my 54 Chevy ones?

Good god miss agness! I have been reading this post and I have some 49 plymouth bumpers that I need plated a little later on. I can imagine what they would want. I would not have p***ed out, I would have died!

The best thing to do it send Tom at Advanced Plating a few photos of the bumper and he'll give you a real close quote. At that point if you're interested then you send them the piece or give it to them at a show. They then send you an exact written quote with a stated return time frame.

If you then want them to do it you fill out an acceptance statement and give them half the money. If you don't want them to do the job they will send your piece back to you.

Once they complete the job they notify you and you send them the rest of the money and they ship the piece or give it to you at a show. They have never been late with their timing ever for me or my Dad's stuff. In fact, more often them most, they are quicker then stated and if your on a show deline and they can help you out, they will.

Every piece is show quality and guaranteed for life from them. I KNOW they are not going anywhere and will be in business long after I'm dead.

As Denise states, Advanced is pretty straight up. I used a local shop to do most of my plating. When it came to doing the tri-power intake and 3 strombergs I sent them to TN.
Advanced is not cheap mind you, but trust me, you will never---ever---ever--- get a chrome palting job that will be cheap, fast AND good. Advanced is good.

Trust me on this, it ****s to have to pay good money for cheap chrome, only to have to have it redone at your expense a few years later.

Rashy, the guy that does all of Chip Fooses' stuff is in Gainesville. I talked to him on the phone. He seems like a straight up guy and does REALLY nice work. PM DragRcr50 for the specifics.
