Finnally got the Car in from the farm to the house had it in the front yard overnight.

Wake up in the morning to see what on the windshield? a damn tow notice from the city, less then 12 hours from when i stuck the car there!!

I understand its not the prettiest car anyones ever seen and i know having it in the yard for more then a couple days could make the neighborhood look bad etc but freaking 12 hours!? come on.

Called the code office had the lady come out to the house to speak with her, she said it was tottally based on it being a motor vehicle unable to be moved by its own power.

She told me i had to put it in the garage i opened the garage and showed her the t-bucket with the open top and asked her if she really expected me to leave that outside instead.

Then i asked her if i could throw a planter on top of the car and call it art! she didnt like that one either.

Finnally settled on as long as its on the side of the house underneath a tarp and there is some sort of progress going on with it, they will allow it given not too many complaints.

If there are too many complaints my other option is to leave it on the trailer beside the house then its legal cover or not.

Ty...that little thing is in AWESOME shape! Your one lucky guy...i'd love to own that!!!

Your gonna need to redo the Panhard bar on the back to make it level, and the lift bars are iffy...but when you consider how narrow the track width is and how big and soft the tires WILL be, I think you could get away with them.
I'd give it a shot just for historys sake, but I would keep an eye on the housing around the weld joints just in case.
Regardless...it's a car you'll have to "learn" to drive, so respect is the key!
    (Respect...and a HUGE engine!!! Hahaha)

Hope you have as much fun with it as I KNOW I would if I owned it!!! :D

Nor trying to be a troll here, and please don't burn me down, guys.
Ty, hang onto those extra doors. If you get tired of the g***er, could there be a stretched Prefect in the future? (Just a possible option.)

    ty,

my friend Ed built one of those about 15 years ago. he built a 2x3 frame; installed 6 pt roll cage (can be unbolted at firewall & front of frame rails for engine removal); engine (350/400) is set back necessitating an aluminum dash which sticks about 8" out from the original location; art morrison rear suspension w/ narrowed 9"; and a (really short) dropped axle with parallel leafs up front. the front axle was ordered from one of the places that make/sell tube axles. for an extra few bux they will make an axle any width you want. oh, yeah, 1-pc 'gl*** anglia front end. slotted aluminum mags; 15x10 rear & 15x3 fronts.

he originally had 4.11's & hi-stall torque converter, but has since changed to more highway friendly gears & more nearly stock converter.

he's driven this thing all over the country and it has held up great.

not suggesting you change your plans, but there might be something here you can use.

Im open to all sorts of suggestions!
The more and more i look at the front end i end up wanting to make it work for what im doing now, problem is finding brakes that will fit the spindles i dont know much at all about front ends to be perfectly honest so i do not know whats best to do what weak points to look for etc, for the life of me i dunno how im going to do the steering on this car yet.

Im not against ending up making a tube frame and aftermarket everything on the car but i want to do my best to keep it close to original as possible.

dont want this to sound rude by any means but if what i have now can work at all im all for it, until the cars able to be at least drove around the block i dont think i can really truthfully say how much im going to love this car.

Everyone of us here knows we can always go back bigger and badder if we want :)

Ty I too have a prefect. I bought a S10 pickup frame complete, cut it down to the 94 inch wheel base of a prefect and narrowed it 8 inches from just behind the front suspension. Looks great. I am using a 98 ford 302 roller motor and aod automatic. If you need parts contact Anglia Obsolete on their web site. Dean is a great guy and will help if he can. I have a fibergl*** Anglia nose for sale for 300.00 dollars.

I know this is an old thread but do you happen to have any parts off that Prefect you want to get rid of? I’m located in Oklahoma as well and need the Prefect front clip as well as some fender possibly

  14. It is indeed an old thread...the originator was last here in 2011.
