In most all 'big' car projects, there are times that we get frustrated and feel like it is taking forever, that we have so much to do, that we can't/don't know what or how to do the next thing... Just hang in there and keep going. You have a great looking car by the pics compared to what many of us (me included) start with and it WILL get done and you WILL be glad you toiled through all of this one of these days soon. Why do I think this? Because there really is no way to describe how great a feeling it is when you finish YOUR car that YOU took from rough/battered/gone to something you not only really like, but can be very proud of every time you look at it or get a compliment. No offense to others, but I feel those who 'buy' thier cars miss out on the best part!!! Hang in there and keep going!!!!
I've been in that same boat for 2 months with my 30 coupe.Every time I finish one spot I find another that needs attention. But when I finish that spot and step back and look at it ,it's a great feeling to know I did it ,good or bad( it is what it is) and if some one else doesn't like it thats there problem.Be happy and be proud, and keep up the good work.
Just open up Street Rodder and check prices on new steel bodies. All of a sudden yours will look better! It looks alot better than mine was when I started .
props on the "Halloween junker rod" I plan on incorporating that into my future conversations about goofy rides. and dont get discouraged when you finish up it'll be tat much better
That is actually what I have (well frame anyway!). Model A frame with a 302 and a C-4. Not the most traditional engine but it runs and the trans works also. The frame was "built" by previous owners down the line, and required almost every weld to be redone. The sad thing is it isn't completely square or even and the boxing plate welds look like a bunch of worms. The axles are centered and parallel, and the frame is strong enough to deal with a wimpy stock early '70s 302, so I'm going to keep it and go ahead. I have fixed any scary welds and braced a few problem areas. I actually mocked up the car AGAIN around 2 weeks ago(this is like the 5th time) and drove it around the block! It was an absolutely wonderful experience! Thanks again for all the help people. I spent much of this evening welding up the inner structure...
