Hey everybody im doing a '68 302/'88t-5 swap in my '54 ford and i figured I'd put up some progress pics to see what you guys think. please excuse the primer/red wheels combo, it was done by the previous owner... Im also a pretty terrible photographer and im still figuring out how to post pics but hopefully this will work and I'll get more pics up as i go. I built the engine in my garage here's the specs:

    -1968 302 bored .030" over
-All new short block built by rupert's machine shop
-Ported heads with all new valves, springs, etc...
    -Mild cam
-Summit intake, Holley 650 carb (not on yet)
    -Ram clutch and flywheel
-Hoping for around 300 H.P. at the flywheel
-The trans. is stock out of an '88 mustang gt.

This is my first complete engine build and also my first swap. I'm doing the actual swap at wyotech in blairsville, PA where im a student. So far it's going pretty well (no major disasters...yet). I'm still working on making the transmission x-member but it should be done tommorrow and I'll post pics ASAP. so let me know what you think so far!

P.S. thanks to my Parents, Wyotech, Rupert's Machine Shop, the H.A.M.B., and everybody else who's helped me out along the way!

thought I'd add a few more pics of the engine build and the installation process...

some advice for anyone planning a swap with custom mounts... beg, borrow, or steal one of those styrofoam engine blocks. they're a lot easier to move around and work with than a 500+ lb. engine!

I hope you guys like this thread because my computer is taking forever to load these pics!!

Yea it's looking like I'll have to convert the old mechanical clutch ***embly over to hydraulic as well. I'm hoping to find a cheap setup from a circle-track parts company if it's possible. If not I'll probably use one from a fox body mustang somehow.

looks good, I am slipping a 302 c4 into a 53 two door customline, had some oil pan issues, but thanks to HAMB members, they are worked out.

another note... anyone looking to paint some bare metal check out this stuff made by rustoleum called "hammered" (ha!). It's what I used on my mounts and k-member. idk if you can see it in the picture but it gives almost like a powdercoated look, kind of black with some silver veins in it, that is apparently really tough. I dont work for them or anything but i figured I'd let you guys know because its a lot cheaper than powdercoating and probably even cheaper than por-15

I got my hydraulic parts from summit, the Wilwood master and slave were a good deal,,,i think it ran about a hundred for everything,,I bet the cable set up out of a fox body mustang would work out good too will probably have to put the whole pedal ***embly because without the quadrant on the clutch pedal it would be difficult to push the clutch in,,jim

I got my valve covers from speedway motors. I originally planned on using the ones from edelbrock that look similar but they cost about twice as much and didn't have holes for breathers in them. I got these ones for about $100 from speedway and they already had the breather holds in them
