Boyd's Memorial tomorrow?

How many HAMBers are going to Boyds tomorrow,for the get together at his shop? I don't know how long the service will be,but it's gonna be right after.
I'm taking the Merc to work,and leaving at noon. Should be there by 12:30 or so.

 

Anybody? R Cole said he was going and 5051 said he was gonna go too.

 

When you go please get some pics, and do a post,.
I would love to make it, but will have to experience it through you guys.

I hope there is a big turnout with lots of cool cars.
Someday there might be a "traditional 80's " resurgance. boyd was on the cutting edge of that.

Did anyone ever find out the cause of death for Boyd ?

 

Times obit said cause was complications from last surgery. According to posts hereon, recent problems had to do with his liver, so ***uming it was surgery due to his cirrosis(sp?), which some have suggested might have been caused by his early spray painting experiences. All speculation, tho.

Just got home from the memorial at Boyds shop. It was really nice. They had a video playing with scenes from his show and some stuff around the shop. Lots of pic's of his friends and cars,magazine articles,BBQ sandwiches,etc. I got a chance to talk to his wife and told her that the guys from the HAMB send their condolences. Here's some pic's...

 

One of his last builds,the" French Connection". Didn't care for the Ostrich interior,but the design and colors were nice. Beautiful car!

They fired it up,and HOLY ****!!!! It sounds like a BAD*** Hotrod! The story I heard was the engine is a V12 out of an Italian race boat.

 

This was sitting out back. Looks ok in the pic,but it was really rough...

 

This Studie looks like one built by a guy I went to High School with. Not sure if it is the same one.

 

This was parked out back too. Kinda "tech" looking,but nice work. I started to leave,and guess what pulls next to me? His wife looked at me and said" Hey...it's Bad Bob!". I laughed. She was SMOKIN HOT!!!!

 

Now that I look at him,I think he's the guy who owns Ultra Limo. He used to live here in Yorba Linda.

 

Tragic loss, sad day. Thanks for the pictures Bad Bob.
