I found a 40 COE wrecker I really want. It is a little rough but was running and would be great for lifting stuff around the yard, maybe take it out once in a while.

OK, no problem, it is for sale, BUT, I have to take these other 2 trucks that I don't have the $$ for. I am doing some finacial juggling and would need to sell both, they ran when parked too.

Sad thing is that this nice 37 would probably bring way more parted out, there just doesn't seem to be a market for trucks. Oh, It also has a Ford script bed.

And the last truck. Supposedly another runner. I really hate tp part out these old survivors but I don't see much market for them. Any suggestions?

Honestly I like the look of the 37, I don't think you'd have trouble selling it. The question is are they asking alot for them, enough that you'll have trouble recouping your money?

I don't know how much you're paying for that lot, but I'm attaching some pics and a link to another COE wrecker in my neck of the woods I've been drooling over for a few weeks now. It's beyond my finances right now, but I thought you should see it.
It's in a lot better shape by the look of things and affordable to boot. You would have to come get it or have it shipped, but it might be less expensive in the long run (depending on what you're looking at for that lot and what it would cost to make that COE road worthy)
Just a thought, but every HAMBer should have one of these, even if I can't/

How much are you going to have to give for the trucks?

You know what kind of money that style of COE goes for don't you?

The car in the background is a fairly low milage 6 banger car with lots of cancer from the salt in Lead/Deadwood.
I realize that people tend to loose track of time on the "running when parked" statement. I had a 56 Merc given to me as a runner. They just parked it because yadda yadda. I get to looking at it and it is stuck, find out it was parked in 72. I'll still bring it home tho.
My problem here in the boonies is selling whole cars, it is a thousand miles from nowhere. A couple months ago I had that 37 Dodge pickup and decided to ebay it whole. ****, I could have sold the windshield frame and grille for what the whole truck brought. I seriously doubt if I could get more than a couple grand for the 37 if I sat on it indefinately and maybe a grand on the other 40-41.
When I llived in East Texas everything was rusted to **** and now that I am where there is lots of solid tin it is too far from any good market. I'll get it figured out, it's just an adjustment.

Rusty, why don't you come up and get it? You need a vintage hauler. I can load you up on good tin while you're here.

You might as well put a price on the two you don't want. Someone here might step up & be able to help you out by buying one...... or both.

Some would travel for the '37, and the '41 truck might bring enough once they get back home to recoup the investment plus pay for a little fuel. FWIW, I sold a decent '41 big truck grille a while back on Ebay for $450. The headlights brought over $200.

Of course, if they are overpriced to start with, you're screwed. Hope the '41 has a door somewhere close by.

I'd drop that '40 cab on a Toronado front end with a tilt deck car trailer back half.......

The '37 is cool as is......that'd be a neat swapmeet part hauler.....

From the tag on the COE it looks like these are going to be auctioned. Or was it bought at an auction recently and the tag is still there?

  18. I could use the front clip off that 41. You could sell the cab and doors to another person, and s**** the ch***is for 2-300. you'd get your $$ back. The 37..even more $$ is to be made from those parts.

I recently bought this one on ebay for $600 to give you a price comparison. It's a 1952 Ford, with a locked up flathead V8 and ***le.

Aww-come on ... What better way to haul your g***er to an event than with a *****in COE? You could probably swing it a lot more realistically than I can!

I would like to get a deal going on the other 2 or to have someone to partner in with me. I can't really put them for sale here without breaking the rules and having rashy or corcob whack my peepee. Plus I really can't sell something I don't yet own and I promised the land owner I wouldn't disclose the location for obvious reasons.
The present owner did buy the COE at auction but it was a wrecker for a local dealership for many years.
Thanks for the heads up on the Chevy COE wrecker. I really want a Ford and this body style although a 48-50 would be ok. I will be looking at 2 48 GMC COE trucks on auction on the 15th, but one is a running farm truck and the other a parts truck. But nowhere near as cool as the 40 wrecker.
I think my best bet is get the owner to work with me and let me sell off the other 2. I need to get $3500 for those 2 trucks to make this deal work for me, or there abouts. I did not negotiate his asking price because I think it is *********** and pointless to negotiate price when you don't have the cash in your pocket to pony up on your offer.

You don't have to "sell" them before you own them. You're just hunting a partner. The $3500 price on the pair should be enough info for anyone seriously interested.

FWIW, I think the '41 would part out & s**** for $1000. That leaves you needing $2500 for the '37..... which doesn't sound unreasonable.

Will the owner let you help him sell each individually? If so, map out a plan to part out & s**** the '41 then offer to run the '37 on Ebay or Hemmings. You may be on the northern edge of civilization but some people would make the trip for solid sheetmetal. (I p***ed on Deuce Fordors within hours of here to buy a solid one in Canada.)

I think the '41 & '37 together will bring $3500, especially "or there about", you just need to talk the guy into a realistic plan to sell them off. Hell, worse case senario, you have to pay $250 or $500 more for the COE. Explain your $$ situation to him, offer to help him sell the stuff, ensure him that you're not in it to make any $$, & promise to be open & honest through all the dealings. Convince him that you'll do all this just for the opportunity to buy the COE at his price.

Make it happen man. Make it happen.

Got this one for sale in my neck of the woods. Outside Syracuse, NY If there is any interest PM and I'll get the details. Not real good pics but its a GMC. It is on the lot of a precast concrete step place, has a very long boom perhaps for placing steps.
