Hey there, been on here a while, so i thought it was about time i did an intro, especially since i have managed to hook myself up with THE greatest pair of front wheels for my project car already, all thanks to the HAMB [IMG]

My names Bill, at the moment i'm living just outside of London in the UK, although i'm originally from the SW of the UK, way down in South Devon. I'm currently working for Volkswagen as a car delivery driver, and my girlfriend is a Psychology teacher at the local girls school (uhuhuhuhuhu [IMG])

My background is mainly boats/the marine industry/environmental science, but since i mess around with cars in my spare time, i thought i might as well get paid for it!

I know it's probably not everyones bag, but my car background is mainly air cooled Volkswagens - i'm in the process of building a '72 1200cc (not 1200 anymore [IMG]) in a semi-vw g***er stylee. My girlfreind drives a SERIOUSLY lowered 1970 VW type 3 'fastback' with modified 1776cc motor on twin webers (whats that in ci? about 100?!!) that has been known to frighten the odd 'hot hatch' and V8 [IMG])

The bird's dad is currently building a Cobra replica with a small block chevy - i WILL be building an aircooled motor to thrash him with! - will try to post some drag racing pics of street legal swedish/british/US VWs running 9 sec 1/4 miles [IMG]

ermm - think that's about it. questions? [IMG]

(will now try to post pics of my motor)

  2. Your welcome, did the wheels get there yet?

Here they are! Not arrived yet mate, expecting them in the next week (depending on how medieval customs want to get [IMG]) Charlotte's dad is more excited then me!

Thought i'd best not tell you what they were going on until they were shipped, incase you had a dislike of VWs! [IMG] Only joking mate! Your help is SERIOUSLY appreciated, you're one of the good guys [IMG]

    The business end!

She's whats known in VW circles as 'Rat Look' ie nasty but fast (to ****er the hot hatch boys into some 'street justice' [IMG])

    thanks [IMG]

The car has been seriously stripped out (bare in mind a kerb weight standard 1200 is around 750kg) she now has no interior, no carpets, no headlining (apart from one made from race stickers a la Gene Berg [IMG]) no door cards, no stereo, no paint on the floor pan (too heavy) - the steering wheel is from Charls dads kustom ford anglia he built in the 70's [IMG]

The seats are polycarbonate (from ex VWDRC racer keith Seume)

The windows are Lexan (except the windscreen) and the rear quarters run NACA ducts and ducting to throw cool air into the engine bay)

errrmmm think that's about it, apart from the 90/10 shock absorbers on the wish list - want to be lifting that front end! [IMG]

oh yeah, the front beam is height adjustable (at the moment you can't get a trolley jack under it [IMG]) and it's been narrowed by 3" for that OG look [IMG]
