I just got news my induction system for my baby hemi is done!
I am very excited.... And I gotta say...a VERY BIG HATS OFF to Larry Fulton of HotRodCarbs for a magnificent job!

Larry Repaired the intake(much coolant corrosion) and set up the carbs and built the whole system.
    Fabulous job Larry!
Edmund Toppers supplied by our own Dennis (O'brien Truckers)
As some know.....I blew the crank out of my 241 last year and had no ride.....bummer.
As soon as the Diamond Deuce is done... the 32 is next.

All this will be screwed together on my upcoming 5 winda project starting in the fall.....241 hemi 5 speed and a QC out the rear.....

Again... Many thanks Larry... you RULE.

    Here are some pics.

  13. Beautiful setup! I have always loved those Edmunds air cleaners. The originals were oil baths.

Was wondering if you could take the tops of of one of those and show us what the insides and the elements look like? I'd like to compare to my original Edmunds. I have an Edmunds 2-deuce manifold for a flatty and a couple of those air-cleaners . . . am curious as to how I need to modify the internals to take regular filter elements. Also - you wouldn't happen to know the model or part number for the elements would yah!

If you have the time . . . much appreciate it. Drop me a PM if you can.

    Thanks! Dale

Can't wait to see the final product . . . gotta love early Hemi stuff!

    Thanks fellas....

yea...funny story how I got this intake..... perusing ebay about 8 years ago....saw it and bid a ridiculous low amount.
Never paid attention and scored it for about $54 dollars.
I did not know how rare they were at the time....
At anyrate.....Offenhauser made them to(I think Offenhauser bought Edmunds)

Nice looking setup, those air cleaners make the whole thing look right. Post some pics with it on the engine when you get there.

  27. Thanks for the mention Jeff - nice air cleaners:)

Funny thing is that Larry sent me one of those pictures because he was happy with how it came out (he did mention it was a "little rough" to start out with.)

So I sent him the link to this thread and told him "You forgot to mention this set up was for my buddy Jeff":D

And you're right - Larry does really nice work.

    Thanks Doc!

And as a Side note here..... anybody running a 241 Dodge red ram hemi.... make sure your unit is running a balancer.... for some strange reason in 53 when they made there debut.... Dodge never had balancers on the engine, hence..... that is why they break cranks..... and break good!
I have seen truck 241's and 270's with factory balancers.... so I am sure they remedied the situation in the latter years.
So I guess my point is..... if your gonna buy one for a project and you see one with out a balancer, BEWARE.....
I went thru 5 cranks before finding a good one.
An honourable mention to our own KERRY, who save the day and hooked me up
    (Kerry,I OWE you big time!!!!)

ALSO to SHIFTS.......Dave, if you ever read this.... call me.....Your crank is PERFECT!!!!!!!!

When I hit the local swapmeets and see guys selling complete 241/270 frozen engines with no balancers....I chuckle.

Some of these guys ask well over a grand for a 200 dollar hunk O iron.
Yea.....and keep a mit full of waterpumps on hand too.....
I found ALL this out the HARD way....(read $$$$$$$)
