I recently aquired this truck through a hamb member luckystiff. He's a real cool dude. Its a 1956 dodge truck. From what I've learned its a 230 inline six flathead 3 on the tree. The plan is low and slow. But anyways I been toying with some grill ideas, but can't seem to find ANY pictures of these trucks done up. The only pictures I can find of them are farm trucks haha. So heres a lil idea I came up with and photoshopped. I dont know what they are off of but they are bumperettes *spelling*

I like it, I'm just sorta playing all my cards before I set something to do. Do you all have any other idea's for a grill? I dont much care for the stock one.

**edit haha look over the roof being chopped thats a LONG way down the road**

Here's an idea... Why not have the black grille surround chromed and just have a floating chrome bar in the center to break up the black space?
Otherwise, it looks pretty good. Maybe once the front bumper is chromed as well and it is inches off the ground it will look better.

What about a tube grill? You could put a slight peak in the middle and either paint it or chrome it.
It should be very easy to make.

If you're handy with a tig or real good with a mig you could make a new school Dodge cross out of a section of log chain and then have it chromed and mount it to look like it's floating.

And why did you park the late-model in the side of it?? Just kidding. I think you need about 3 horizontal bars in the opening.. the vertical bars will not flow with the width of the truck..

It kind of reminds me of the two front bumperettes off a 49-51 Mercury turned 90 degrees and welded together... I dont' know, I was just thinking something horizontal to break up the space. Kustm52 makes a good point about this.

  12. Fast and crude, but I like this...... '53 Buick grill, head light buckets and bumper. More work than a simple grill swap I know.

I have a extra 55 chevy truck grill for my truck so I am going to try something like this...
the mesh would be black though on mine as I do not want it to stick out.

I also want to get a front bumper from a 50's GMC truck like this...

I'm trying to thing of something that has a good amount of height to it, so you are not left with alot of extra realestate once you fit everything togehter..

perhaps a 60-62 chrysler grill? kind of compliments the shape you have there already..

What about grafting a early to mid 50's Caddy "Dagmar" bumper in there? Many of them swoop up in the middle and the "****s" and crossbar would simulate a grille.
    Just a thought.
