The only way I know to drop a twin I beam front is to either bend the beams, and thats tough to do right, or I know a guy here in seattle that builds dropped twins for $600 a pair, and they are nice. Hes a grumpy old fart though, Craigs Auto springs in Seattle 206-784-0072
he specializes in these old fords

    HEY
if you are going to go through all the work to clip this truck, then buy a fatman front clip or street rod engineering, I have done the volare clip and torsion bars suck, and its a bitch to bag with the volare, save time and aggravation and go with a real clip.

Here is my fathers 66. This site has only a few pics as I am still trying to find the old ones from when I was young. My father and brother built it for my brothers first car when he was turning 16. Right now it is back to blue and has a rebuilt 351w ready to drop in and we are putting in an AOD as well. Right now with the 4.11 posi/lsd rear and an fmx tranny it winds like a bitch at highway speeds so it needs an aod. Tilt nose is a nice feature and for some reason kids love that.

Read my signature. The truck's still got the original Academy Blue paint too. It was stored in a controlled textiles mill for half of its lifetime, hence the decent condition.

It's got its dings, dents, and scrapes for sure. Been rolling for about 82,000 original miles.

  16. Eh Matt2491,what did you use for a clip?
    And Abone what bout you?

    I have a few of these trucks,including a 66 Mercury Crewcab and a 65 Mercury Extra cab.
The crew I'll be clippin, baggin and putting a short wide bed on it.

  20. I think Matt2491's is a photochop. He said it was in original paint, but has shaved handles without any spots, plus the shadows don't look right.

Bingo! :D I wanted to see how soon someone would notice. I wish my truck was like that. The original paint is true though, but like I said the dents are there like in the front hood, grill, and the right fender...

Here's a couple real pics of it:

Heres a pic of my 62. I put a front crossmember out of a 92 f-150 in the original frame rails so that I could have late model sterring and disc brakes. Also has dropped beams.
