I have a extremely nice 30-31 model a coupe body and really want a roadster. I was just wondering what the main differences between a coupe and a roadster are. I want to build a full fendered car and figure that I could build a fendered coupe and find a roadster body sometime, but could I pull the coupe body off and swap a roadster body on the same frame with the fenders still attached? Also, I know some of the differences of a coupe body vs a roadster body, like the doors are different and the interior room is smaller on a roadster but is that it?
Yep, the fenders are exactly the same for A coupes and roadsters. With the popularity of 30 coupes right now, I bet you could sell a nice body for the same amount as a new repro Brookville roadster body might cost.
I have a coupe and a couple of roadsters...I'll take the 79 any day. I've always said. " if you're going to have one hot rod make it a roadster". Buy a hat and a warm coat and enjoy.
**** i better stock up on the old 30-31 A's then whats a brookville body sell for 20 grand and 2 years later?
i have 1 of each and they both have a purpose, love em both...but if i had to choose only one and they were equal,i would have to go roadster.sorry guys
