Wondering where all those old coupes and sedans went? Found 'em! Mentioned before on a thread about the Wynns streamliner, but perhaps missed by the m***es? Scroll down to the bottom of the page and pick a name to see what they raced into the ground! http://coloradoracingmemories.com
here is Gene Pastors car. Gene is still very into cars and has quite a few cool cars and parts laying around. I am delighted to call him a friend and he is always there to help out us younger guys when necessary.
wow, alot of guys I know in the car world are on there. Bernie Sawin and Al Starr. Bernie knows more about Fords then Ford did. He is a transmission god and has one of the cleanest mercs you'll ever see. Al Starr still drives his 36 3 window regularly. He built it in the early 50s and has always had a flathead in it. Several actually ranging from stock to supercharged.
This man appears to have been a one man crusade to rid the world of excess early Ford coupes and Sedans http://coloradoracingmemories.com/crm_lehman_joe/crmlehman.htm
I love that site, being from CO growing up my dad raced and all these guys were the "heros" The pictures and stories are priceless Man they tore up a lot of "Tin"
I love checking out that site! My parents used to take me to Lakeside speedway every Sunday night during the summer. That track has been around for a long time, and now it is just falling apart, it almost makes you cry when you drive by and see it now. There is SO much history there.......
looks like this site has closed ! they even erased the pix here in the hamb. http://coloradoracingmemories.com
Unfortunately the guy who ran that site decided to close shop for good. Some of the guys from BigWestRacing started a new site to take its place, its called.... AutoRacingMemories.com - they just started a couple weeks ago so there isn't much content there yet but at least there will be a place to put all that stuff.
Yeah the CRM site is dead & the guy has zillions of pics, some that never got posted. A couple of guys wanted to take over the site, but the guy won't part with the stuff. Pity. I hope that someone in CO can get the old geezer to reconsider, so we can keep these pics for posterity. I feel lucky to have gotten some of the history of my car before it closed.
