getting ready to buy a 1949 cadillac and kinda need a parts source for some parts and im new to the caddys so dont really know where to look need external chrome side spears (all of them) Rocker panel chrome (Drivers side) Hood (spear and goddess) (maybe found one on ebay) i need 1 tail light lense ( but not sure what side) and id like to put a stockish Caddy steering wheel in the car but dunno what years will fit (dont have a problem with mixing up years there cause the car will be a mild custom) any one got any ideas where to find these or perhaps got any extra parts lying around ?
Try http://www.azvintageparts.com/ -ask for Al. I got some stuff for my 51 a while back, very reasonable and easy to deal with. I'll tell you one thing though, Caddy parts, especially trim - are NOT cheap. I bought a Grille / fender extension from AZ Vintage that was nice and straight but needed a rechrome for $50 - I saw a decent 'driver quality' piece go on Ebay the week before for $200. Some of these guys restoring Caddys apparently have DEEP pockets. Add to that a lot of stuff being one or two year fitment only and it's an uphill battle. Good luck though.
First off excellent choice with a '49. You should definately give this guy Rick a call at 312-607-9417 after noon. One of the coolest kat's you will ever meet and talk to, and deals solely in pre-65 cadillacs. Ive purchased many parts for my '57 from him and plan on going back for more. I kid you not his warehouse is like a museum, but anyways he should have your stuff and give you a real good deal on it too.

The boys at Crushproof are almost done with my 48 sedanet..have been told 48-49-50 stuff is pretty much the same(tailight lenses) sets can be had out of Hemmings for $130.00..am also looking for a better steering wheel, mine is useable just plastic is all shot...
You better have "tough skin" if you call these guys. They think they have the only part left in existance, and expect you to tell them how much you would pay for the item, then tell you if your pocket is deep enough. I threw some emails back and forth a few months ago, and here's how it went: me: "I'm looking for a headlight bezel for a '52 Cadillac" allcads: "we have a few, how much are you willing to pay?" me: "I found one for about $40, but if you can meet or beat that price, you get the money" allcads: "see, I had you figured out from the beginning... good luck" WTF does that mean??? ... I'll NEVER try to buy from them again!
