after weighing all my options (carson top, removeable steel top, folding chopped top). i've decided to go with a functional folding top on my 40 merc convertible,,,,the car was chopped a long time ago, and someone took the time to figure out most of the geometry for the top, although some of it was mounted upside down, not ***embled, etc....i've got it basically figured out and mocked up, and i think it will look great,,,i still have to fine tune some of the proportions, but its close.........anyway, i'd like to see some pictures of other guys that have gone this route, and if you did it yourself, how difficult was it?,,,are you happy you decided to go this route? any and all helpful info appreciated....i know BobK did a chevy,,

Your Merc should be real close to a 46-7-8 Ford. I know they look a lot better cut. I haven't done much frame cuttin' but I've built a lot of tops after. Good luck, they look great.
