The new grill is interesting. The first one looked good too. The roof came out fantastic!!! Great work for a punk kid,LOL!!! Just kidding, really doing a amazing job,Ken.
Noland, from an OLD Texas Hotrodder....You dont know how good it is to see a teenager doing what you are doing, instead if smokin dope or gang bangin.... Hats off to your parents..must be they did something right!!!!! Your are doing an excellent Job.Keep at it!!!!!
Hey, thanks, My parents are great they really are, they support whatever I do. I think my father owning a Salvage Yard has a large part to do with it and learning work ethic at a young age Thats what made me love old cars
Not really, This and that,Half the stuff on my car came out of his yard, Im just lucky I guess, but as far as old cars theres not alot. Come on we live in Pa where the old cars at salvage yards were crushed 25 years ago and the rest are in the ground. There is this old salvage yard about ten miles from my house that had rows and rows of old cars 40s and up,they are slowly all getting crushed, but even thoses cars were parted out and rotted into the ground.
Ken, I haven't seen this thread until today. All I can say is for a teenager still in highschool your work is OUTSTANDING!!! I never got a welder until I was way into my twenties and didn't even know how to use it then! Other stuff came much slower to me, such as painting, engine building, etc. You are a steller young man. Congratulations on your A and all of the work you are putting into it. Also, give your parents a hug and thank them for doing one heck of a job in raising a fine young man that understands the real meaning of work and the rewards that it pays.
I try to do stuff myself, anybody can take out a loan and buy a car, but to do it yourself is an experience you learn so much while making something nobody else has. I love doing it thats the fun part, driving its just a bonus at the end
Holy shit Noland! Don't mean to super bump, sorry guys, but damn that's going to be a nice coupe. You're my new hero..
No doubt. Times 2!!! Excellent work. Keep at it, and keep learning! Awesome post. Wish you were closer, I'd like to meet you/help out...
Thanks guys for the comments, sorry for not posting Ive been busy putting this car together, I have to do a presentation for my Senior project for school on monday the 12 and I think they will be impressed with it. I still have a mile list of stuff to do. I cant wait till its done. The coupe will sit for alittle while because I have to recoop funds to continue on it. I hope you like it. The flake is Rothrageous Red
To pull off that look, you really need to chrome the front end. Too much black kills the paint. Flake cars look so much better with a lot of chrome.
Wow, nice job for a high shooler. Keep up the good work. Light years ahead of me at your age. All I had was a oil burning 307 in a rusted 70 camaro when I was in high school. But then again, I could go to the VFW for beer at noon. That was cool...
damn, that's one hell of a ride you have build. just wish i had the resources/know-how you have... (and i wish i could do something like that in my country, but sadly i can't) Good job, no, GREAT job
I dont think so,I havent worked on it for about a month. All I have to do is fire up the motor, Rebuild those carbs, Wire the entire car, get a driveshaft built. Oh yeah on top of that I have to go threw a billion papers to make it street legal. Though the car wont be there I definitly going to try and make it out there. I also started a job at a bodyshop, So atleast Ill have a little money to work with.
