    That sucks big time!
When a lady hit my truck me and the insurance guy went round and round. I held my ground telling him that all I wanted was my truck back to the condition it was in before his client hit me. I wasn't asking for a paint job, interior, rims or anything I didn't already have done to my truck. I simply wanted it back to pre-accident condition. After all, if the lady they insured hadn't hit me I would have still been driving the truck and me and him wouldn't be having that conversation.

I wouldn't worry about the insurance - they'll pay up. If not, sic yours on 'em.

And thanks from the bottom of my heart for volunteering for the Army...we need more like you. God bless and keep you safe the next 4 years..

  3. sorry to see this, I'm glad everybody is relatively ok. stupid shit, she should have her ass beat for it. I wonder if it even matters to her that she creamed old tin.

  4. Sorry about what happened to you and yours...I'm happy to read that you were all able to walk away. I hope your recovery and repairs go smoothly.

With that said, I'd like to ask the community if anyone has had a positive insurance company experience that would make you recommend them to fellow HAMBers?

I'm sure we've all been to enough automotive events that are sponsored by auto insurance companies that claim they insure rods, historic, collectible and specialty cars, so has anyone out there had these or other insurance companies actually live up to all of their promises in regards to giving good service on claims with our type of cars?

God love you, you were just talking about the string of bad luck the other week. i hope that this is it for you and everything starts to look up, but at least you weren't hurt and the cars can be fixed. that is such a nice delivery, and the damage hopefully looks worse than it really is. i have some friends here that have 53 and 54 chevys so if you need any parts i bet they can pitch in and help you in that department. plus i go to swap meets all the time and if you need me or my dad to look for something just let me know. oh something you might want to do is contact an attorney just to protect you from the BS the insurance company will probably dish out.

I stated that you can you this as a leverage to get more cash out of the insurance co. What you do w/the money is secondary.

The co. will offer something just to make you go away, even if you dont see a doctor, or have any check ups, and that is a fact.

Another thing that most people dont relize is that you are intitled to a rental car, and if you dont get a rental you can use that as an arguement to get more money. I have done that twice now.

I've my fair share w/ins. co.'s in the past, and like to pass along what I have personaly done, and learned from both repairing cars for insurance co's, to being the victim of sombody elses dumb-ass driving, . One good piece of advise is to have collector car insurance and life will be much easier.

But no matter what, the best advise I can give anyone who has been in a serious accident is not to say one thing the insurance co., and have a respectable lawyer handle the case.

The companys will do whatever they can to pay as little as they can. That is thier job.

  10. that is really a fucking shame! glad you or your passengers didn't get hurt. i had a 64 1/2 mustang convertable that some drunk fucker in a 64' caddy nailed me in the right rear quarter, tore the fucking rearend 90% out and i wound up on someones front porch. sure paid off having all those receipts.

Hope you come out ok with the insurance company. Is your neck feeling a little stiff?

Easy...there are some things waaay more important than getting a car fixed....like making sure his own body and the bodies of the people in the car with him are covered IF there are medical problems. Screw the car...it is fixable...sometimes a human body is not!

A friend of mine was in a wreck that wasn't his fault. His car was destroyed, but he was not injured. The insurance company wouldn't give him a fair price for his totaled car. He couldn't find a lawyer to take his case because he wasn't injured. Makes your neck hurt worse just thinking about this, doesn't it?

haha, yeah its not the first honda ive taken out of this world. i also got a vw or 2. too bad they werent all in the same car. id put a few japanese flags, and a couple swaztikas on the fender like they did in ww2 on the fighter planes. i guess i still could,it didnt have to be the same plane, just the same pilot. naa i better not. someone wouldnt get the swazis and it wouild get me in trouble.
man the hardest part is waiting for the appraisals and insurance adjusters,i want to tear it down right now, but i cant until i get a couple estimates.

Man I am sorry, I'll look through my junk for '54 and '53 chevy's. Whatever I have you can have. Do you need any suspension pieces, or hey just make a list and PM me. I know I have a '54 hood and fenders if you want to go that route.

    thanks,
    Tim
