My 9 year old son is starting his first hot rod project.

I had been talking about making frames for the 1932-34 truck cabs...
So we built the first one for him.

I'll admit I have been helping, but lot's of ideas are his.
Not to repaint or chop it. Fine with that.

He bought a 1934 bed at a swap meet for $60.00
We shortened it 9" ,it's rough but matches the cab.

I wanted to run the big 32 lights, but he wanted the little Arrows instead..

Plan on making it as simple as possible.

Will update as we go along.....

(Still looking for a 33-34 truck grill.)

Looks great. I saw the frame and cab over at Bob's. That's awesome your son is into hot rod's. Thanks for the front axle and parts.

  3. How many years before he can legally drive that puppy in Colorado?

Good going!!!! I have a 34 PU w/ "A" frame under it. I don't want to lower it that much though. Going to put a 318/727 combo in it. Wife can't drive a stick. If you find 2 33-34 grilles let me now I need one also.

Eric, He's grown like a weed. Make sure you buy him a really cool pair of safety glasses....I remember when he was about three. He pushed his pedal car into the middle of a group of people at your house, flipped it over and started to pound on it with a hammer. He's your son, that's for sure.....How cool would it have been to know how to weld when you were ten..............

He's got some good safety glasses.

Had a chance to fit the bed a little more...
Reused the old bedfloor.Decided to have the bed up a little higher then stock.
Will build a little filler panel below bed next to cab..

A shot of the front Z..

I really like the way the frame kick allows the bones to stay un-split. It's gonna sit just right and I like the unchopped top too.

Geez, when I was 9 I had way cool playing cards in my bike spokes :- /
