Does anyone make lowering blocks that fit '49-'52 chevy cars, specifically to fit the torque tube rear axle ... or do I have to get the generic ones and modify them.
    thanks.

What's the difference that wouldn't make them work for the torque tube axle?

built my own, 3 3/4 was low as I could go with ok suspension. Had to put in some smaller lenght shocks though. and have some new U bolts made, works good though

  4. It's not the torque tube axle that is the problem. The stock leaf springs are only 2 inches wide and most lowering block are wider than that.

He's using 2 inch blocks, and flipping the 2 smaller leaf springs upside down, and getting rid of the 3rd smallest to get about a 4 inch drop. On a stock leaf set up you think this means the ride is gunna be too cushy and bottom out.. or worse?
