This car was for sale at the swapmeet in Turlock last Fall and then on Craigslist a short time later. I'm pretty sure the car was located in Ivanhoe, Ca. It was green on green and running a set of Astro's. If you happen to know the whereabouts of this car please let me know, I'd love another crack at it.
I'm still kicking myself that I passed on it. I've been thinking about it almost constantly for the past two weeks.
funny i've seen that picture before and saw a car that looked exactly like it, astros, stance and all a couple of months back here in Los Angeles. that thing is bitchin' considering its an overlooked ford bodystyle.
post a add on craigs list with pic for info.I will search my sent email files and see if i still have info.JOHN
muttley i saw that car on craigslist also. and also can't stop thinking about it. good luck with your searching.
Far from overlooked, '65 and '66 are almost always a favorite among collectors as well as design enthusasts. They just tend to post date the rod and custom culture, slightly, tho some pretty cool and interesting customs were made from the '65s. I think they also stray too far into the muscle car catagory for lots of traditional guys but fewer, I'd think, than might be imagined. I think the're one of the blue oval's best looking of all time but that's just my opinion.
I posted a want ad on Craigslist and within an hour was contacted by the former owner and a friend of his. The car was sold to a woman in Hanford last Fall................the former owner cant remember her name/contact info.
damn bro you're really on the hunt for that one, huh? i love those rides, too, best wishes... los bouelvardos flaco
Yep, I havent been able to think of much else lately. I went to the March Meet with the sole intention of buying that car if it was there. BTW the March Meet sucked.
I built mine a little more stock looking, except under the hood: http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc315/BillBallinger/Moonrunner3.jpg
muttley, i'll keep an eye out for it in the hanford area, and on the navy base. it may have been bought and parked there.
Those Galaxies are still pretty plentiful for reasonable prices. For whatever reason the 65 & up don't seem to be real sought after unless its a vert or 7 litre.
I hated selling that car but I needed money to build a 29 sedan, I had it up for sale for a long time and even ebay but nobody would even come look at it or give me what I wanted for it?? real nice car too, the bad thing is her boyfriend mentioned they would probably change the wheels out to some big billets, that made me sick!!
I want to add that these fords up and through the "70 model were riding on one of the industries sweetest and well balenced chassis. Smooth and sure footed big cars.
Wow, this post almost made me sick to my stomach.............I had no idea you were a HAMBer. I talked to you over the phone the day before Halloween last year. I feel like the worlds biggest idiot for not buying that car. I loved everything about it when I saw it in Turlock and I couldnt believe how fortunate I was to find it on Craigslist soon after the swapmeet. The body was arrow straight and it's even my favorite color. This is one thats going to haunt me forever.
I see that car all thew time running around Hanford!! Yup, I ran the girl down one day to ask her about it. She seemed decent, didnt know alot about the car. I looked it over, what a buet! Straight as an arrow.
to make a long story short 6 yrs ago i owned this galaxie, had it for a couple years, loved it, sold it to a motherfucker named DMX and the millionaire fucker never paid me in full, he shorted me 3k, then i sold my story to the national enquirer and when the story came out, his posse started calling me, threathening me, they knew where i lived cause i had already given him the pink slip (IDIOT) i could go on and on........ but basically everytime i see a 65 galaxie it makes me angry!!!!! but i think they're rad still!!!
yeah, well it's all in the past now, but i work in the movie business here in L.A. and we'll cross paths again , it's a small town , BAD KARMA!!!!
Hanginlow58, how did you obtain the stance on the '65 that started this post? I think that stance is perfect and would like to do that on my '65 ragtop. Thanks, - John
