my orginal thread. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=228696 here is what all has happend since then. bought a frame, then stole the car 2-8-08, worked nights and weekends for 3 weeks then last week worked on it all but 1 day. the reason for doing it in one month? my dad turned 55 this weekend. let me know what you think, and in my first post i stated that i had a good 31 to start from. i lied it was almost junk. o well my dad loves it and even though he went to kemo to day it was still all he could think about. i got it done with out him knowing it , he was surprised to say the least. in the before picks that is how it has looked for the past 8 years. the 7 years before that the only thing differnt was the firewall wasn't cut out and the lt1 wasnt there. what we started with what it looks like one month later forgot to post my photobucket page. http://s270.photobucket.com/albums/jj116/elitemonuments/ hope to here from you guys. thanks bjb
Nice job Burns66, Hope your dad is goin be ok, and hope both of you get to enjoy that coupe for many years.
Mister motovation!!! I feel like leaving work right now and going home and locking myself in the shed with my tools, beers and music.
i guess i should give some specks on car. a on 32 rails. channeled 3/4 of an inch. 396bbc all hyd roller. 700r , 9 inch 4.56 gears, 30" tall hurst cheaters. the header in the pick are just temp. the guy that built mine didn't get them to me for the party. lowered the grill 2.5 inches. if you have any question just ask. thanks
right on, nice work, hope you and your dad have many years and many miles grinning ear to ear in the coupe
What are you using to hang the rear end in this. I am getting ready to build a 32 frame for my Model A truck. I really want a similar stance.
Nice rig, that ought to help your dad just seeing that. you guys are heroes. Funny how these cars become "The Best" form of therapy, I know. My best to your dad, OLY The cancer car lives Give to cancer research
the frame is a pete and jakes with the superbell front, and the parallel 4link. a lot fancier than what i was originally was going to do, but i found this one for sale and the price was way right for it.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> <o></o>
That thing looks absolutely sweet! I'm sure it will help with your Dad's healing, even better when it's fired up and he's behind the wheel! you're a good son..................................................................
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o> </o> the plan was to have it running, but after a 36 hour work marathon, i was in no mental state to be firing the motor for the first time. all we lack is about 1 hour. o well.. the headers that i got coming are some lake styles with baffles, and we plan on painting them flat white.<o></o> oh ya, my 18 yr old brother picked the wheel and my sister picked the car color. we had alot of fun putting this thing together. thanks for all the replies
