I have a chance to get a runner w/260, AT, 4dr, for a daily. Its rust free, all stock, everything works and its in great shape! Free and clear ***le. And, I cant beat the price... :) FREE :)

Most guys arent keen on 4drs, but I need something to go to car shows with this season while Im still building my rod. My '79 chev PU just doesnt fit in.

Was thinking of doing a mild 60s custom. Lowered, skirts, lightly flaked roof, satin body, maybe scallops, gl***packs and call it good. I dont have a pic of it yet, but I found a pic on the web (below) that is exactly like it, except the one I can get is tan w/tan interior. It needs a fresh paint job and very little tlc to the interior, tune up and stuff. But its basically the same condition, even the same hubcaps. I DIG those taillights!:D

I found nothing in the archive, and not much on the web. Just wanted to see what people have done with them, thx ;)

Hey, I was messing around with photoshop. I have some saturn moon discs laying around, so I thought Id put on, drop it and try a simple two-tone paint job. Looks pretty sharp for a 4dr. What are your thoughts?

thats cool, thats what I liked as well.

Have any of you looked at the front suspension on these meteors? Its the wildest thing Ive ever seen, definately not like a regular mercury of the same year.

btw, I found out that this car is a custom. Has a "custom" badge under the meteor emblem on the front fenders. It has brightwork trim on the rockers, and wheelwells, along with the 260 V8 and AT, which were options.

I'll bump this to the top with another 4 door for inspiration. I have a '62 4 door that will be a daily driver as well. Hopefully next year.

    Attached Files:

  19. I'd drive it just the way it is. Maybe a set of Lancer hubcaps or something with a 3 bar spinner. Then drive it till it falls apart.

    Meteorman,
I have it very close to being a daily. I have some timing problems and ran out of year when the snow hit. So Ill tackle it in the spring. But the car is very solid and the 260 seems to be pretty strong. The 500cfm carb seems to be working just fine, but I may need to jet it down, as its always running really rich.
