Picked up a 53 Chevy pickup today. No cancer. No body damage. 99% original. Original wheels and hub caps are in the bed. Really shitty paint. Hasn't been really driven in 10 years. 3rd owner. Promptly drove it 5 hours home. Over a mountain pass in Oregon. Couple of sphincter clenching moments, but survived. So it wasn't in a barn. It was under an awning. But I won't complain. Life is good.
Oh yeah, she be a clean Chev. Softscrub and a fine Scotch brite pad, water and an afternoon of rubbbing........
Swap the wheels, leave the rest alone, it's perfect! I see you're in Oregon, this year's Christmas card needs that truck in the snow with the tree.
Big balls, driving a vehicle that hasn't been driven for ten years. You're lucky the brake lines, hoses, wheel and/or master cylinder hadn't deteriorated to the point of failure. It's a beautiful find............buy a few lottery tickets - it's your lucky day!!
Hey SpnkyMcGee, Good for you! That's a true sign of a great hot rod when your sphincter tightens up like a snare drum! Enjoy your new find!
